She describes how she threw up after every meal and constantly felt sick. Lastly, she went into detail on how I was an active baby and constantly kicked.

Originally my dad wanted to name me Somia, however, my mom did not like the name and she came up with a creative variation naming me Saamia.

My parents were considering other Muslim names such as Zarah Aryana and Sarina, whereas they were set on the name Shayan (my brothers' name) if I ended up being a boy.

I was really attached to my uncle from my dads side growing up. I recall us being close and he would always spoil me with candy and toys. In addition, I used to only listen to him when he would tell me to eat.

Imprinting is the certain attachment an organism gets during their critical period that occurs in the early development stage of the baby. Since I saw my uncle almost everyday I got attached to him.

According to Ainsworth and Hallow the lack of attachment can raise insecurity within the child having detrimental effects such as trouble making future bonds and handling stress. Early attachment is critical to avoid long term consequences of absent attachment. I was always close with my mother and uncle and I personally don't see these traits within myself.

During the Pre-Operational Phase of my development, I would play pretend by having these fairy wings, and every time I had them on I would jump between sofas and chairs doing parcore in my living room pretending to be a fairy.

The sensorimotor stage is when the child is experiencing the world through their sense of touch, hear, taste, feel, and smell. We can see an example of this on how babies love to put everything in their mouths.

The preoperational stage is when a child begins to play using toys and physical symbols. At this age, the child is encouraged language development and discouraged their egocentrism

The concrete operational stage is when a child developes logic and has learned to be less egotistical. The children are encouraged to discover experiences to reinforce logical thinking through hands-on tasks.

During the formal operational stage, the child has discovered creative solutions, and the ability to predict consequences. In addition, children are shaping their own morals based on past experiences.

Erik Erikson's stages of development include stage five which is Identity vs Confusion and Intimacy vs Isolation. I believe these will be the hardest hurdles of life to jump because both these senses require a sense of maturity and being self-aware. Reflecting on my high school career so far I have discovered specific things about my identity for example I now know what I look for in a friend. Highschool provides adolescents with such different personalities and trying to find where one belongs requires the greater pursuit of knowing who you strive to be. Some discoveries I made with my identity include how I prefer to be in smaller groups rather than bigger ones, and that I do care about my grades in school. I discovered I like to give gifts to my loved ones and I try to make amends with people I don't necessarily get along with. I discovered that in high school boys aren't the whole world and have picked up different interests by participating in theater productions, BPA, and Deca. Looking at Intimacy vs Isolation, I understand that after high school I will be confronted with the ability to meet new people. And make more intense connections. Knowing who I am during stage 5 will help me make mature decisions on who I want to be around in the future.

Moral Developement

Part of out personalities are just reflections of the people we met in the past. Just like moralities, I picked up a few moral lessons from my parents. My mom is very big on helping the environment and it has reflected on me. I can see this in my day to day habits of turning off the water or lights when they are not needed. Another moral I picked up were proper manners. My parents don't believe anything in the world should come free and taught me to appreciate anything that was given by me atleast by saying my thank yous. Lastly my family is very religious and we have made it a habit to pray before leaving the house and praying every evening. Lastly we follow moral rules of islam like not drinking or consuming pork. However some of my morals have been different than my parents for example, my mom is very orderly and organized and believes tasks should be completed the moment they are assigned whereas I procrastinate and am an overall messy person. Kohlberg looks into the thought processes into moral decisions for example in his sixth stage known as universal principals where ones morals serve the reasoning to please a humans fundamental rights. We cannot say why we want to be fair unless we acknowledge the feeling of having things be unfair. One chooses justice because they have felt what it is like to be treated unfairly. This differs from the idea that ones morals a reflection of just their parent's rather also a reflection of past experiences.
