I'm first of all there are many ways racism can happen police brutality, social mistreatment, systemic racism. Police brutality has been around as long as slavery has. A common way of police brutality is shown is, when innocent people of color are shown different hostile treatment and they are always assuming the worst when they are going to grab something. I'm not going into the more graphic details but you can probably imagine what happens from there. Another sad detail and comparison is that non colored people don't have to worry about giving "the talk" with there children. Some people don't even know what that means. Well what that means is the parents of colored children or not white passing have to sit down with there child at a young and describe what they NEED to do as soon as they see an officer or are getting pulled over. The saying on the rear fender of a police cruiser is "to serve and protect". For some households they think that's quite ironic that they have to sit down and talk about what they should do around the people that are there to serve and protect them. Now social mistreatment, this is when people of color are treated different in society one common way is due to movies portraying most color people to live in "the hood" or "the projects" this means that they live in rough areas surrounded by violence, drugs, and other things young kids should definitely not grow up around. What i'm getting at is that sets up a scenario where a lot of people assume that oh there life must suck going through what they have to go through. when in reality that's not all that true I personally know many colored people or people that are not white passing and they do not live anything near those lifestyle. Lastly systemic racism, this is when someone of non white passing decent get treated differently and sometimes get harder fines/sentences when it comes to court cases. In 2020 there was a white group of police that had killed a young innocent man by suffocation, they have still not been fully indicted. But in 2023 there was a group of colored officers that beat a man to death and they have already a couple weeks later are seeking a trial and are being indicted. That person then made a post and millions of people saw it and retweeted and it went viral. When they where just about ready to hire her, they took back the contract due to her tweet but, was that really the case? Some people might say yes, while others will say no. I agree with the people that say no. I think they might have did it because if they did hire her they would be cancelled as well. I think the cancel culture should not longer be a thing because celebrities are human to. They might have done the same dumb teenager things that you have to. That doesn't mean there lives/career should be put at stake over something they did more than 5-10 years ago.
