Misunderstandings

In both stories, bad things happen when people misunderstand situations. In R&J, Romeo learns from Balthasar that Juliet died and decides to kill himself. This is shown by, "Well, Juliet, I will lie with thee tonight.

Let’s see for means. O mischief, thou art swift"
In Pyramus and Thisbe, Pyramus thinks Thisbe was killed when he finds her cloak torn. This is shown when Ovid writes, "Before him lay the bloodstained shreds of the cloak and clear in the dust were the tracks of the lioness. The conclusion was inevitable. He never doubted that he knew all. Thisbe was dead."

Both families dislike each other

In both stories, they both had a family that did not like the other's. In Romeo and Juliet, Act 1 scene 1 the Capulets and the Montague's were trying to settle a fight but Tybalt said he hated the Montague's with a passion. According the text, " What, drawn, and talk of peace? I hate the word,As I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee. Have at thee, coward!." In Pyramus and Thisbe, their families did not like that they were in love so they forbade them to see each other and to be together. As shown in Ovid's story, " They longed to marry, but their parents forbade."

In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo sent messages through Friar John so it can go to Juliet according to the text, "I could not send it, here it is again, Nor get a messenger to bring it thee, so fearful were they of infection".
In Pyramus and Thisbe, they both communicated through a crack where their parents also didn't know according to the text, "In the wall both houses shared there was a little chink"
