Ever since I was a little girl, I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t doing art. Usually, when my parents asked what I wanted to do I would say paint. Then I would have the greatest time being creative and enjoying every second of it. A memory I have that relates to that would be when I got to finger paint with my cousins. We would always laugh and get to share our work with one another. We would go talk to our grandma afterward so then she could hang it up on the wall. Back then I was so proud of myself even though it was just simple doodles. But I never knew that was only the beginning of my artwork. 

     After a few years passed I started getting into the style of manga, cartoons, and anime. So I collected a few of those how-to draw books with instructions. I guess I didn’t have the patience to actually follow through with the instructions so I traced it. I was happy with how the results came out but I soon realized that it was not my work, it felt as if I was cheating. I didn’t want to continue like that, I wanted to show the work I can actually do. I challenged myself because I wanted to be more authentic. I'm not sure actually how it happened but after years of practicing, I got the hang of it and I was so excited to see my art had progressed. My favorite type of art nowadays is drawing anime characters. 

     Now that I’m in college and taking all different types of art classes, I'm glad to learn how to use new materials and new methods. I’m able to expand my creativity and knowledge of art. To me, that’s a way for me to love art even more. I never want to stop doing what I do with art, it’s my passion. To my friends and family, this is what I’m known for. Something I started as a hobby, turned into a passion.
