Doctors

Some doctors would be considered heroes because they have to take time out of their day to help save lives of people. They give for the greater good by helping out the people, they face danger with their whole career potentially being jeopardized, they are a good role model to look up to as they save human lives, they make difficult choices by making decisions on what to do with the patient, and one wrong move can cost the patient's life. Some doctors get the hero status because they can receive gain in money, but when doing their job in saving lives, they should not blindly chase the money to get the hero status. Not only that, doctors are not all necessarily nice personalities, which sets the boundary of what it takes to be a hero doctor.

Charity givers are (most the time) considered heroes because they are giving for the greater good, which can be any cause, they are willing to give into their cause all the way, they are good people to look up to as they are giving to someone/something that needs it more, they have to give their hard-earned earnings to someone else (which can be difficult on them), and are generally good people, qualifying them for the position. The materials they give can greatly help out another person in need, and to the extent of even saving their life. This just goes to show that anyone can be a hero; even you can too be a hero.

Peleus' Story

Peleus was the king of the Myrmidons of Thessaly. He was the husband of Thetis (a sea nymph), and had a hero kid, Achilles. It all started when Peleus and his brother were banished from their Dad's kingdom of Aegina (Aeacus was the father). He went to Phthia to get purified by his uncle (King Eurytion). He married Antigone there, who was his uncle's daughter (making her Peleus' cousin). He went on a Calydonian boar hunt in which he accidentally killed King Eurytion. He went to Iolcos so that he could be purified by King Acastus. However, the King's wife (Astydameia) "advanced" toward him, in which Peleus refused. As a result, Astydameia told Peleus' wife that he wanted to marry the daughter of the King, and she responded by hanging herself. Later on, Peleus won the sea nymph, Thetis, by capturing her. At the wedding, he invited all the gods, but Eris, the goddess of discord. She responded by giving a golden apple out of spite, which lead to the judgement of Paris, and then the Trojan war. Peleus was getting old, and gave the fight to his son, Achilles. Thetis had then returned to the sea, and eventually got Peleus to stay with her.

How is he a hero?

Pelelus was, by Greek standards, considered a hero, as he was related to the gods (his father was Hero Aeacus, son of Zeus, a Greek god), which fills out the requirement of ancestry. He has had strength to carry out his tasks, of fighting in the hunt, where he accidentally killed his uncle. He has accomplished feats by capturing the sea nymph, Thetis. He has been also in punishment with one of the goddesses of discord by not inviting her to the wedding, leading to the Trojan War. He now lives with Thetis and has his son as a reward for his challenges, who also ended up being a Greek hero.
