Originally Donatello showed Brunelleschi a carved sculpture of christ and Brunelleschi said it was bad, so Donatello challenged him. Brunelleschi then created his on christ and Donatello agreed his was far more beautiful. This human competition&nbsp; brought on by the re-birth period led to the amazing Crucifix sculpture that is still widely admired.</div>]]></description>

This is because the palace was home so some of the most famous rulers of renaissance eras, such as the Medici and Pitti. It was built to fit their humanist thoughts, like the open garden and the villa. The perspective was new to the current society and therefore a more modern perspective used in art and buildings that were beginning to flourish. Florence wanted the biggest church so they would out shine challenging cities in Italy. It mimics the Tuscan Romanesque style that influenced the rebirth period, and was also seen on other churches.&nbsp;Brunelleschi of course incorporated his great mind in cracking the code and designing the modern dome shape.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The tombs in the Basilica di Santa Croce were designed by Brunelleschi, and to this days his remains also lie there. This  basilica represents renaissance values because it is filled with art work and sculptures from renaissance era artists. It also has the Pazzi chapel attached which was described above and one of the Brunelleschi's most important rebirth period designs.</div>]]></description>
