Why you chose CALS:
CALS offers top-tier teaching, and research that can help address critical issues facing the animal industry combining practical animal stewardship and a refined scientific education targeted at making an immediate impact in medicine. Preparing me for graduate school and deepening my interest in animal-related research and motivating me to one day manage a business related to animals. I will gain a comprehensive grounding in understanding whole-animal function and how animals cope with the challenges presented by their environments. I want to be invested in learning everything I can about animals so that I can apply this knowledge to help ensure animal health and well-being and I want to be able to educate the humans who love them.

Your current aspirations for your CALS degree:
I plan to continue my education by attending veterinary school; pursuing my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, and attaining an internship to gain hands-on experience and knowledge. I want to master the knowledge needed to become a veterinarian. I also want to work with rescues to provide affordable veterinary medicine. I have always shown compassion and love for animals, which inspires me to one day own my own veterinary business.

Why I chose CALS: I believe CALS (and by extension the rest of NC State as well) can best prepare me for the kind of career path I envision myself in.
Current aspirations for degree: Not 100% certain on what field I want to settle in, but I definitely aim to work in the food industry. I believe improving public health needs to start from the very beginning, where the food is grown and processed.
