The Connecticut plan broke the gridlock, by coming up with a plan that made both sides satisfied. The Compromise and made sure that it still let every state have it's freedom. They also made sure that everyone was elected fairly and they all had an equal chance. With that they created a bi-cameral congress. They made The House of Representative's and the Senate. When voting for the House of Representative's it was determined by population, but when voting for the Senate, each state got 2 votes. This is what The Great Compromise did to break the gridlock.

The connecticut plan or Great Compromise broke the gridlock at the constitutional convention by giving both sides a little bit of what they wanted from each plan combining to form an agreement among the two. One piece of evidence for this was the two houses. The smaller states with the New Jersey plan wanted one representative per state while the bigger states with the Virginia plan wanted the number of representatives proportional by population. In the compromise, the senate got 2 votes or representatives no matter what which the small states were happy about. In the second house, The house of representatives, the number of representatives was proportional by state population benefitting the large states. This shows that both states got each of their benefits from the plan. Both plans also agreed on the 3 branches of government. This helped greatly because they both wanted this original and the both got it.

It took some months for the delegates to start agreeing with each other and making a decision. It made sure that each state was equally represented and made sure everyone still had freedom. From that the house of representatives and senate were created. When voting for the House of representatives, each state got two votes.

This compromise would settle the arguments over the New Jersey Plan and the Virginia Plan. This compromise would construct our constitution. Two legislative houses or Bicameral, and lastly larger population gives you more reps.

To compromise, it was decided that each state would get two representative votes, no matter what. We still follow this Constitution today.

When it came to slavery, the south wanted the slave counted as for their population is 2/3 of slaves as for the north didn't want them counted because they didn't have much slaves at all. So when it came to the The Great Compromise, they agree to have each slave count as 3/5 of a free person. When they want the house the Virginia Plan want two for the population while the New Jersey plan only wanted one. So in the compromise, they stick with the Virginia plan and had two.

The Great Compromise, aka the Connecticut Plan was the thing that broke the long argument between those who supported the Virginia Plan and the New Jersey Plan. Like the name says, it was a compromise between people that included ideas from both of the plans that still holds strong in our government today. People who supported the opposite plans made sacrifices in order to make the new Plan, and both parties were equally supported because of this. Here are the basics:

1-- Congress is divided into two chambers; House of Representatives + Senate

2--Each state got two votes regardless of their population size, which favored small states and was an idea from the New Jersey Plan

3--Not all of the states had to agree in order to make edits to the constitution, unlike the A. O. C

4--Bicameral

5--More representation for those with large population

The Connecticut Plan broke the gridlock at the Constitutional Convention by meeting in the middle of both of the New Jersey and Virginia plans. The Great Compromise combined these two plans creating our current legislature with two houses, one based on population and elected by the people and the other house allowing two senators per state being appointed by state legislatures. They wanted to give the plans both something that they could have good information about both of the plans.

The Connecticut Plan, also known as the Great Compromise, broke the gridlock at the Constitutional Convention by giving both sides a little of what they want. For example, there are 2 houses in Congress; the House of Representatives and the Senate. The House of Representatives is based off of population, so if your state has a large population, the more representation you get in the House of Representatives. satisfying the supporters of the Virginia Plan, while the other house, the Senate, gives each state 2 votes, satisfying the supporters of the New Jersey Plan. The people who supported the Virginia plan were from larger states, and they thought they should get more power. The delegates who supported the New Jersey plan were from smaller states, and they thought everything should be equally based so no one state has more power than the other, Supporters of both plans agreed that there should be three branches of government: legislative, executive, and judicial. This was also included in the Connecticut Plan to give supporters of both plans something they both agreed on.

The Connecticut plan broke the gridlock at the constitutional by compromising and using some parts of the Virginia plan and some parts of the New Jersey plan.
First of all it had two branches of Legislature, the Senate and the House of Representatives. This idea came from the Virginia plan. In the Senate each state got 2 votes which is an idea from the New Jersey plan and benefits smaller states. In the house of Representatives the amount of reps was based n the population of the state. This idea came from the Virginia plan and supports larger states. Also the Connecticut plan had 3 branches of government which both plans wanted. In conclusion because of these 2 reasons and many more the Connecticut plan compromised and broke the gridlock at the Constitutional Convention.

The Conneticut plan took things from both plans to create our constitution today. We have two houses which came from the Virginia plan. Everyone gets two representitives in the senate, this favored the small states comming from the New Jersey plan. In the House of Reps. you get a different number of reps based on population, this came from the Virginia plan. This is what our current government is today. This plan was presented by Roger Sherman. This plan has other names such as the great comprimise or the Conneticut compromise.

They made an agreement by mixing the plans together to have a strong base of government that supports both big and small states. The two states wanted 3 branches of government, so that was kept, but most opinions were complete opposite. Virginia wanted 2 houses of congress as New Jersey wanted one house. They made a compromise that each state gets 2 representatives to vote in the Senate and the number of population was dependent for the number of votes in the house of Representatives.

This favored the New Jersey plan and smaller states. The House of Reps was based on population, favoring the Virginia plan and smaller states.

They took parts of the Virginia plan like two branches of congress and in those two branches the house of representative, which based the vote number by population size, favors the larger states, like Virginia. They also took things from the New Jersey Plan like in the two branches there is the Senate, where every state gets two votes no matter what size, which favors the smaller states like New Jersey. They also have to treat all the citizens the same in every state . In the end both sides were happy with the new government and thus broke the gridlock.

The Great compromise is very important it broke the problems between the large and small states that could be known as a gridlock. They had to make a compromise this was called the connecticut compromise the compromise gave the people elected senators which in term there were 2 houses of legislature the senate every state gets two votes and the house of representatives which is based off population and there is judges which is elected by the legislature which is elected by the rep. this means that there was a chain leading to the people. This means there is finally a government run by the people this is the compromise that broke the gridlock at the constitutional convention.

It took ideas from both of the plans and made a new one that satisfied both the small and large states. It had three branches of government which was one thing the two plan had in common. In the senate they got two votes per state and the house of representatives it depended on population.

The Connecticut Plan ( The Great Compromise) broke the gridlock at the Constitutional Convention because they compromised. They took ideas from the Virginia Plan and the New Jersey Plan. Since they compromised they formed a new government using both the of what Virginia Plan offered and what the New Jersey Plan offered. For example both of the plans could not agree on the House of Representatives and the Senate. They compromised so that both of the plans got what they wanted. The plans weren't that happy that not everything was about their plan but there was enough to make them less angry. That is how the Connecticut Plan broke the gridlock.

They took the idea from the New Jersey Plan which was number of representatives based on equality and make that the Senate. This was that each state gets 2 votes no matter what size. They took the idea from the Virginia Plan which was number of representatives based on populatiion and made the House of Representatives. The more people a state has the more votes it gets. Both plans wanted 3 branches of government so that stayed the same. The Great Compromise decided to be Bi-Cameral.

This compromise took lots of time and there was lots of arguing going on. They took some of Virginia's plan and New jersey's plan and put them together. SO not one side would have to much power because it's like getting half of each! So it maid it equal to take somethings from each plan.

The Connecticut Plan broke the gridlock at the Convention because of the compromising they did between the large and small states. An example of them compromising was, say if each states got 2 reps. each, it would be fair and reasonable for the small states because they have less people to defend for but for the large states they need more then 2 reps. because of them having more people they will also have more ideas that they need defending for. From this they had to compromise and take parts from both sides to make an equal and good plan that will benefit both sides.

The Connecticut plan broke the gridlock at the Constitutional convention by taking things from both plans and making a whole new one. Many representatives were conflicted on having one house or two in congress, but the Connecticut plan solved that by deciding to have two, Senate and the House of reps. The representatives also had a hard time deciding on how reps should be allowed. The bicameral congress helped and the # of representatives was chosen by population for the house of reps while the senate had two senators for each state. In the end, without the Connecticut plan, America wouldn't be the same.

So everyone had different ideas and they narrowed the big ones down to smaller ones so everyone could agree on it. IN order to do that they had the Virginia plan which was bicameral, larger states have more reps, legislative can control trade, three branches of gov., house of reps. was elected by the people, and the senate was elected by the state legislator. But the New Jersey plan had each state gets one vote, had three branches of government, could levy taxes, unicameral, and raise money to regulate trade.

The Connecticut plan broke the gridlock at the constitutional convention by making compromises on the disagreements between the big and small states. It combined ideas from both plans to help the others agree on something. The bigger states wanted to decide a number of representatives based on the states population, but the New Jersey plan had each state (no matter the size) only got 2 votes. The compromise for this was to have the number of reps in the house of reps based on the states population. In the senate, each state only got two votes. The great compromise also agreed on having 3 branches of government. The next thing that was compromised on was a bicameral congress. This meant that there would be two houses in the legislative branch (The senate and the house of reps.)

The Great Compromise broke the grid lock by combining some ideas from both the Virginia and New Jersey plans by making one big compromise called the Great Compromise. Such as, from both the Virginia, New Jersey plan they took the 3 branches (legislative, judicial, executive). Another evidence that I have found was the Great compromise took the bicameral congress idea form the Virginia and plugged into there's. Depending on the population in that specific state, it made the choice of how many representatives to bring to the Constitutional convention. One last thing I have noticed was, since the Virginia favored large states and the New Jersey plan favored small states. The Connecticut plan decided to favor both the large and small states.

If they could not agree on this, they would split an idea. Such as the 3/5 slave plan. They kept going back and forth and could not keep it, because it would only give one side power. by the 3/5 slave rule, they compromised and made a fair law. Thus, by compromising each point in their government, it kept getting stronger and more agreed upon. Even though both sides were mad that they did not get some things, it was equally split apart so nobody could argue. Just about everyone agreed with the idea, and the constitution was born; meanwhile the gridlock was broken.

For example, they came up with 3 branches of Government, (EXEC. LEG. JUDI) to equally share their ideas. They then eventually came up with the Idea of a Bicameral Congress. This consisted of the House of Reps and the Senate. The delegates determined that the number of representatives will differ depending on the size of the population itself. Large states preferred the House of Reps while the Senate relates back to smaller. No matter what, each state would have the offer of 2 senators. Eventually, this would make-up what today's government would be.
