Last tuesday, I came into the Honeywell Campus at Barnsley College to initially enrol. We had to pass our information the the teacher who was enrolling us to correctly enrol us. I think that this developed my communication skills as it allows me to talk to new people and build confidence when talking to new people. I think that I could have talked a little more to ensure that I was confident when talking, and also to build my communication skills.

After enrolment, I came into college on my first day not knowing hardly anybody besides to people. This allowed me to use communication skills in which to make new friends at college. This allowed me to build friendships and boost my communication skills and I think that this went well as I made new friends at college within the first day. However I think I could improve my communication skills when in college to enable me to create more friendships.

During our enrichment, we had a lot of activities that we had to do in groups like the balloon chair. We had to work together while doing these activities to be successful. I think that the communication within the group was good as this let us build friendships with each other and allowed us to communicate with each other. I think I could've communicated more during these activates to be able to gain more friendships.

On one of the induction days, we had a task of building a chair out of balloons as a small group, then we joined another group, this let us communicate to create a chair out of balloons that was sturdy. This helped everyone's teamwork skills as we all had to work as a team to make sure the chair was stable. The communication within the group went well as it allowed us to be successful when making the chair. However I think I could've had more communication input when doing the task.

During Saffron's lesson, everyone contributed into making a blanket out of paper. We had to put our names on a piece of paper and write a fact about ourselves on the back, then tie each piece of paper together to create a blanket. This developed teamwork skills as we all had to work as a team to create the blanket, this also helped our communication skills with each other as we all had to talk to each other during the activity to be able to create a quilt that was even. I think our teamwork was good as we created a quilt that was even and didn't break apart. I think that I could've had used more communication to be able to thoroughly think of a plan that would've worked so the blanket didn't fall apart.

During our Cabin Crew lessons, we had to create a pre-flight briefing so that we could pass our assessment. We all had to use the internet to collect information about the flight we chose to create a script that would help us pass our assessment. This helped our teamwork as we all had to work together to create the scrip which would help us during the assessment, and help our communication skills with each other. I think that the teamwork went well as we created a script that let us pass when using it. However I think I could've had more input when telling information.

I am motivated to complete all tasks given to my by all my teachers as well as assignments, this shows that i am focused on my assignments and assessments throughout college as well as being able to complete tasks efficiently and hand them in on time.

I think i am a reliable student as i will always volunteer to help if people need to during lesson as well as outside of college. I also think i am a reliable student because if the possibility to came up to volunteer for any open evenings or events to do with my course, i will volunteer to help with them as this also helps me through my course to be able to learn new stuff as well as offering support and help to anyone who needs it.

I have supported peers in my class with work if they have ever needed it, showing that i am able to offer people support with college work or an assignment if they need the help or support.

I think that i have shown support to peers in class as i always encourage peers to go out of their comfort zone, this may be for personal life or to do stuff such as presentations during class, this shows that i am able to provide support to people who may be uncomfortable to do something and can offer the support they need to help them through it.

In 2023, i created boxes to collect food for the local Salvation Army. I designed boxes for around the christmas period and collected food for the charity. I ended up collecting a wide range of food for the charity, being able to feed families around the area. I think we could have also tried to raise money to provide items such as blankets since the christmas season is cold and the charity could provide families in need with necessary items to struggling families. From this, i achieved communication skills which i can add to my CV.

In college, we made baked goods such as brownies, to support Barnsley Hospice. We ended up raising £180 pound for the charity, making it really successful. I would change the fact that i did not talk alot, i think i could have spoken more during it. From this, i have achieved voluntary work therefore i can put this on my CV.

In college, we did a bake sake, selling cupcakes and more for Travel and Tourism. We walked about the CUBE building and sold treats around the building. We ended up selling quite alot of our treats meaning we raised quite a bit of money for Travel and Tourism. In the future, i think we could expand and sell more in the other college buildings to raise as much as possible. From this, i have gained voluntary experience which i am able to add to my CV.
