I believe that technology, ZOOM, distance learning will continue to be a part of education.  There are some students that do well in this setting and have the executive function/organizational skills to thrive.  I am hoping to gain from this course the ability to create technologically sound lessons that my students may access in order to enrich their understanding of particular concepts/skills.  

It is my intention through this 5 week on-line course that I will further my knowledge of the technology that teachers have used while instructing during distance learning.  By gaining insight into others’ teaching practices and technology use, it is also my hope to continue to add to my current “toolbox” when instructing students whether in person or the remote setting.

I predict that we will have a chance to work with others and share what worked and didn't and then use that information to set goals and practice. It will be interesting to work with a new group of people on the goals.
 
I am hopeful that  I can learn more tech that is useful even with limited internet connections an/or ways to get around that issue that have worked for others, including more asynchronous work to allow my students to take on further responsibility. I know that teams can be a great support when they share and discuss issues and ideas.

I predict this course will be valuable to me in adding more methods to my teaching.  It was interesting to me to read and listen to the content in Module 1.  I appreciated the reminder to start with what you do know, that being how to teach, then work from there. I think I was focusing so much on what I don't know just like Nancy Frey in the video from our text.  It's so easy to get caught in the quagmire of all that goes wrong.  I hope I will be able to remind myself to think a bit differently about my teaching and all of my strengths and resilience.

I would like to give myself the time and framework to reflect on this past year.  I have not done this.  Reflection has always worked for me in my career as and Educator.  I was in crisis mode these last few months and need time to be still, look through my scope and sequences and pick out those activities that were valuable. I am grateful to have this opportunity.  I feel as though I am being recognized as a professional because this class and stipend was given to me.
