Throughout my three semesters as instructor in Usrah In Action (UIA), I have encountered numerous valuable lessons and experienced personal growth. UIA not only provided an avenue for community engagement but also fostered a strong bond among students and instructors. This sense of unity and support is something I am sincerely grateful for. However, I have come to realize that after engaging in similar STEM activities over multiple semesters, with the same community, a need for change and more intriguing experiences has arisen. While these activities undoubtedly provided valuable learning opportunities for the children, I am hoping for fresh and innovative projects, and more exciting avenues for exploration. So, it's time to think!
In the end, I hope we can do more impactful programme in UIA2, maintaining the same spirit and motivation to help those in need especially in STEM education. We believe that quality education has the power to transform an individual's future and uplift their socioeconomic status.

With all the challenges we faced & problems we solved together, we were indirectly able to form a very strong bond together. For my reflection about UIA 1 (Scitech 7.1), I learned many lessons throughout our journey together.

The first lesson I learned is how we should be grateful for our ability to pursue education with ease. After visiting the PPR, I realized that not all people can afford tertiary education and that we all must help create a nation where education is more open.

The second lesson I learned is that all hardships will always end in success, whether directly or indirectly. During the development of the modules, many different problems occurred and made me feeling very stressed. But at the end of the day, the outcome that the modules brought was satisfying.

My final lesson is that teamwork really does make the dream work. Working together as a team has it's ups and downs but it creates a very impactful result and also lets us make new friends along the way. To sum it up, I believe that Usrah In Action is an efficient way to give students an experience outside the classroom. Throughout the Usrah in Action course, I have experienced valuable lessons and personal growth in Section 12. We explored important topics like active listening, empathy, and the power of collective action. In this reflection essay, I want to share how this course has influenced my development and community engagement.

Section 12 taught me the significance of active listening. I discovered that truly hearing others involves genuine curiosity and respect. Learning to listen actively has improved my communication skills and deepened my connections with others.

Usrah in Action helped me cultivate empathy. Engaging in various activities allowed me to understand different perspectives and challenges faced by others. This empathy has encouraged me to be more compassionate and considerate in my interactions, promoting a more inclusive community.

Section 12 emphasized collective action and community involvement. By participating in volunteer projects, I witnessed the strength of unity. It made me realize that coming together as a community can create meaningful change, inspiring me to be an active participant in addressing societal issues.

By saying so, Usrah in Action has done a great job of emphasizing the value of knowledge in our daily lives. The process of organizing a program is undoubtedly challenging and it requires a diverse set of skills and knowledge.

I was incredibly fortunate to have amazing support from my friends in Section 12 and my instructor, Dr. Hasmah, despite the fact that this was my first time handling a program. Their openness to pass on knowledge and offer advice has been crucial in assisting me in completing my duties precisely. I have been able to develop my ability to communicate within our team thanks to the foundation of knowledge laid by my peers and mentors.

Our ability as a team to work together has improved which made us able to come up with creative ideas to improve our module. Teamwork has allowed us to successfully address obstacles that have come up along the route, which has eventually resulted in the successful implementation of the Scitech 7.1: Kembara Saintis Cilik program.

I also learned to value the role that knowledge plays in facilitating good communication. It has made it possible for us to deliver important messages to the audience in a way that guarantees their comprehension and participation. Along this journey, we faced numerous opinions and worked through disagreements to establish a peaceful and productive environment, which also emphasized the virtues of tolerance and patience.

In the beginning, I were very curious and scared to handle the programme with the people I don’t know and never seen before but after we have an online and face to face meeting for our Sci-Tech 7.1 : Kembara Saintis Cilik which we want to touch about the surface of STEM
( Sciences ,Technology ,Mathematics,Engineering ) I feel very happy and grateful that everyone in my section are participating and playing their role very well as they know how to overcome the issue and alert about their job-scopes .During the preparation month , we held 2 meeting per week for module developers as everyone must to keep updated their progress before the programme started .Praise to Allah that everyone are giving a good cooperation and supporting each other.

During the day ,even though that our bus are arrived 2 hours late, we are very worried that we need to cut our activities and affect our programmes but Alhamdullilah we are managed to arrive at 10.30 at we just start with Ice Breaking and team building module that consist of two games such as Find Me Bingos and The Taboo words . We also have very fun and fascinating activities such as The Mysterious bridges ,Smart Sifir module ,The cup tower and The Elephant toothpastes . The participants were enjoyed and they hope that they will come to uia to our next Sci-Tech 8.0 at IIUM.

Volunteering for the children's science experiment program has been an incredibly enriching and fulfilling experience for me as it was given positive impact on young minds to loves and give mindset to them on how to enjoy the Science and Mathematics subject. Reflecting on my time as a volunteer, I am filled with a sense of joy and satisfaction.

Working with children during the science experiments also allowed me to develop my communication and teaching skills. It was very great to see the joy and enthusiasm in their eyes as they participated in practical experiments and learned about the fascinating world of science.

Not to forget about the experience of volunteering where I make a new friends in this section. Each of the person brought their unique skills, experiences, and perspectives to the table, enriching the overall volunteer experience. I am so amazed with their volunteering skills on how they managed and mentoring the children.

I'll sum up by saying that my time spent in the volunteer programme has been transformational. It has helped me become more aware of the struggles that other people go through, more appreciative and connected to my community, and more capable of being a force for good. Through the process, I learn a lot. As a Media, creative ideas are very important in making a design. As a team, we consist of 4 people. Thus, we always share and give our opinion to ensure we obtain the best result. Knowing that each person also has other commitments, we always have each other back, especially if a design needs to be done as soon as possible. Indeed teamwork and communication skills are very important to facilitate a process. Besides that, the journey to make SciTech 7.1 a success takes work. It has been a roller coaster ride, but Alhamdulillah, in the end, we manage to handle it. On the day of the program, handling kids was not an easy task. Even though I am responsible for Media, there are moments when I need to facilitate them and help with what they need. Being gentle is very important as they are still in the process of growth.
Next, as we know, the participants come from B40, and from that, I learn that I should be grateful for what I have. I do interview their parents, and listening to their worry about their children makes me realise that I need to do what I can to help these children continue to have the ambition to succeed out there. All in all, despite some unforeseen problems during the day of the program, we achieved our objectives. Congratulations for bronze award and thank you to Dr Hasmah and all my classmates. The program surpassed my expectations in terms of the impact we were able to make. The program was well-organized and allowed for good interaction with the children. The games were designed to cater to various learning styles therefore ensuring that every one of them has an opportunity to participate and learn. It was inspiring to witness their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn and enjoy the games introduced to them. We successfully completed this course despite the challenges we faced during the development. Furthermore, this program enhances and develops my skills, particularly leadership and cooperation. I am so grateful for the wonderful teamwork with my classmates in this section, and I have gained more skills from them and Dr. Hasmah.

Hence, I hope that everyone benefits and gains great experiences from what we have done in this Usrah In Action 1 and thank you all for your excellent teamwork. The first thing I learned from this program is that I should always be grateful for what I have. For example, even though studying at university is not necessarily an easy thing, I still have to be grateful because education can change our future in terms of socioeconomics and not everyone is able to continue their studies.

In addition, from this program I was able to improve my communication skills. This is because a program must have a slot that needs to be explained to others such as explaining to the children at PPR and everyone must explain what we are doing and the effect obtained to the public during the symposium. Now I am more confident to speak or explain to the public on the condition that we know all the inputs and information when visiting at PPR so that we can answer the various questions asked by the public and can make two-way communication run smoothly.

finally, after this program ended I realized that all the hard work done to make the program successful will be rewarded with excellent results. At first I am scared because i was separated with my friends and joining a programme from different kuliyyah other than my own makes me wary a bit. However, it is beyond my expectations and was really fun.

I would say this programme is a success even though there are a bit if hiccups that must happened no matter how well we prepared. In terms of preparation, I think we need to do early preparation, which means by doing a week early induction to ensure all the committees understand their jobscopes and master the modules well. And to avoid exceeding the tentatives and time limit.

Everything was great, we have continuous meetings to update the progress and the PM did a great job too in keeping us updated and tracking our progress. Madam too did tracked us and not letting us doing things on our own without her guidance and advices.

The programme held with the participants in PPR Hicom Kg. Baru was a success even though there was miscommunication and exceeded the time limit. It can be improved in the next UIA 2

This programme helps me to improve my communication skills, and did another jobscopes instead of doing the one that I'm used to. I would like to say, throughout this journey of preparing for the programme in ppr kg baru hicom, it taught me a lot valuable lessons that I can apply it thorought my life. Although the programme was not as perfect as imagined it to be, but the imperfections is what makes this usrah in action a memorable and life lesson to me

One of the lessons that I've learned is

Firstly, is how amazing it felt to be surrounded by amazing people, so many people I've met throughout this journey taught that I have a lot ahead of me that I need to learn, although I am always actively involved in various programs hosted by clubs in iium, usrah in action I would say something that gives an impact to me because it involves engaging with the community outside iium.

Secondly, I feel a sense of gratitude towards the kids in ppr kg baru hicom, seeing them happy with what little they have makes me think all of the little complains I always make in my life, and to be surrounded by such energetic and active kids, it reminded me of my own siblings, this sense of remembrance helped me enjoy more time with them as I enjoy spending time with kids.

Thirdly, at first I was really reluctant if I should continue with sci tech, since the module of this program mostly related to STEM, which is unrelated to my course (law) but I learnt a lot from the module and I consider it to be really fun, especially when we first conducted our first simulation, where we test the modules to see if they are suitable for the kids or not. I am also fascinated with my fellow teammates for creating the module, especially the elephant toothpaste one.

To sum up, it was an open eye opportunity to represent in SciTech to the community outside iium. I will cherish this memory and try my very best to give back what I've earned to the community.

So, as we all know, Usrah in Action is a unicore subject, and I expected it to be like other unicore subject where I just come to class or meeting and do some assignments and carry on. But, I was wrong. It turn out that I need to be working in a team, a very great team.
During our first meeting online, I got to know my instructor, Dr Hasmah, who is a kind and soft spoken. I'm also very excited about the Sci-tech programme. Then, we get to choose our position for the programme and start our work. I was scared because the time for the programme is quite soon, but alhamdulillah the team was really helpful and responsible. We manage to settle all of the task before the programme.
During the programme, everything is fine since we already rehearse all the module and the kids at PPR is also giving cooperation. Of course there is a problem and shortcomings here and there, but we managed to solved it. Based on this programme, I realised that not every children manage to get a quality education. Some may have to deal with problems that may cause distraction to their study, such as poverty and they got no place and support to study. This has shown me that our nation have a lot more to do to improve the education quality and it is not just focused at school.
Based on Usrah in Action 1, I have learnt that teamwork is a very important thing to success. Besides, I learnt that communication is important in a team. I also learnt from the kids at PPR that I must always be grateful with what I have and try to make the best out of it.

All in all, Usrah in Action 1 has been quite a journey for me and introduce me to my new friends. Congratulations section 13 for the bronze award and let's do our best for Usrah in Action 2. I still cant believe that i received a once in a lifetime opportunity which is being part of Scitech 7.1. This chance leave a great mark in my heart as it help me to be who i am right now. UIA 1 thought me to appreciate the opportunity like this that foster the positive value in every each of us, especially students in section 12.

Scitech 7.1 have given me such a great responsible as a PM which allow myself to grow the sense of responsibility in me. I need to admit that to achieve the objective of Scitech 7.1 is not an easy job but working with the committee in Section 12 is a blessing. All the committees are playing their role in making the project successful. The cooperation between the committee and myself help me to improve my leadership skill . Not only with committee but also with the authority of PPR Kampung Baru Hicom, where they help me to develop a good communication skill as well. Next, UIA 1 also develop my passion toward volunteerism. Being a volunteer give me a sense of connection with the children in PPR . I could be inspired by this experience to become more active in my neighbourhood or local government. This value led me to learn to be grateful for what i have right now. May Allah always grand us His rizq . Inshaallah.

Besides, Giving back to the community boosts confidence. This is because i feel naturally accomplished when i helping people and the community. I feel proud of and connected to myself because of my volunteer work. And i think that the more confident i feel in myself, the more probable it is that i will have a good outlook on my life and future aspirations.

Other than that, UIA 1 bring us to visit a new area of our neighbourhood while volunteering that we have never been to before. Volunteering like this may provide us the chance to meet individuals in our social network that we otherwise wouldn't and allow us to learn from people from all various backgrounds. This encounter might deepen our appreciation for others who are different from us . Therefore, my social flexibility and worldview will grow as a result of learning about cultures and ways of life that are different from my own. It will also develop crucial social skills like empathy and collaboration and boost my knowledge of the problems that other people face.

Lastly, i would like to thank IIUM especially SEJAHTERA CENTRE FOR SUSTAINABILITY & HUMANITY for giving me this opportunity. I also wanted to thank Madam Hasmah for guiding and helping me and section 12 in achieving our goals in Scitech 7.1. I know that words alone cannot describe and represent my gratitude toward Madam Hasmah and all the students in UIA 1 Section 12. Thus, May Allah repay all of our kindness with the greatest reward. Assalamualaikum and hello to everyone. So, for usrah in action this semester, I'm taking it for the third time. This usrah in action is extremely different from my last usrah since I learned a lot more, notably about communication among members and having a more ordered planning. As a result, I really enjoyed experiencing this usrah in action.

We are going to PPR Kg. Baru Hicom to meet with kids who are keen to learn new things; it is really pleasurable to manage the programme because the children loved the module as well.

It also teaches me how to communicate with kids while also ensuring that our goal of exposing the children to STEM is met. The module is excellent because it is simple for children to grasp.

Dr. Hasmah and the members of Usrah are quite helpful, and I thoroughly enjoyed working with them. I hope we can collaborate successfully in the forthcoming UIA 2. Thank you and congratulations on all of your efforts👏

My upbringing is no where near what these kids are going though and frankly it has opened my eyes for the better.

The biggest lesson I have learnt is to understand the scope of what Usrah in Action 1 entails. Truthfully my efforts were not the best but nonetheless it was something notable amongst the committee. This essay serves as a reflection on the invaluable lessons learned through this program, which focuses on mentoring children living at Pusat Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) in science, technology, and mathematics. The context of these young learners, characterized by limited resources and parental support, highlights the necessity bridging the gap in education among children

One of the major challenges we encountered was the moderate interest in science, technology, and mathematics among the children. However, through the activities and games conducted, we were successful to ignite enthusiasm among the children. Further encouraging them to learn more of the subjects. Another critical aspect of our program was to foster confidence and self-esteem in the children. Many of them faced challenges in their academic pursuits due to their disadvantaged backgrounds. Through personalized attention and mentorship, we hoped we were encouraging them to believe in their capabilities. Team building activities es and competitive games were also played during the program. These activities not only instilled a sense of accomplishment but also nurtured their passion for science, technology, and mathematics.

At the end of the day, a survey was conducted among the children.It became apparent that many of the children lacked access to educational resources and a conducive study environment at home. Moreover, their parents often had limited knowledge in science, technology, and mathematics. This posed a significant hurdle in their academic development which we hope to overcome in upcoming programs and developments.

The Usrah In Action program has been a transformative experience, both for the children and for myself as a student coordinator. It has reinforced the belief that education is a powerful tool in breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering individuals. By catering to the specific needs of underprivileged children in science, technology, and mathematics, we have witnessed a positive impact on their interest, knowledge, and self-confidence. We hope programmes like these are more conducted with the support of the university in the future.
