Stage 1: trust vs. mistrust

This stage is the earliest of life where infants need to be provided what they need to survive. Trust comes from having their needs met, and when they are not met they develop insecurity that may affect them later in life. In my life, I was a very sick child and my mother was always by my side. This created a very strong trust in my life that has stuck.

In this stage, parents allow for children to try and learn to do things on their own. It promotes being independent, after needing to be provided everything. As a child, I struggled with his stage, and was always upset. I needed help doing everything for the first few years of my life.

this stage of development grows off of the last, where children show growth when they are independent. When children show initiative they are playing on their own, dressing themselves, and do not rely on others. As a child, I showed lots of initiative when I was 5/6 by playing by myself, dressing myself, and even feeding myself.

Children who show advancement are learning in school and playing sports while interacting with more people. I played baseball and basketball while showing great improvement in school.

Adolescence fight an internal battle with themselves trying to understand who they are or who they think they should be.

This stage looks at those who are providing for others or those who are still trying to understand their role. Those who are generative are raising children or supporting others around them. those who are stagnant are still trying to understand themselves and the role they can play In other's lives. I plan to be a father and teacher, so I will hopefully be very generative and support others.

This stage is a reflective stage, where an individual looks back at what they have done and either feel pleased or feel guilt. Those who are pleased have no regrets and are happy with what they have done. Those who feel guilt question decisions that they made and wish they would have been different. I hope that I can teach students who grow up to be happy and healthy, while also raising my own children and providing myself. I do not visualize me looking back on my life and feeling negative about it.
