1754 - The French and Indian war was a war between the English colonies and Great Britain against the French and the North American indians. Although the colonies and Britain won, it put Britain in debt. Great Britain decided to pin the debt on the colonies, which led to more taxation, and the end of Salutary neglect, so they are now enforcing the Navigation Acts more heavily now as well.
