Depression is a major issue relevant to this book. Depression is a mood disorder that affects the way you feel, think, and act. The author makes the main character depressed in the beginning of the book. This is due to his job in hell, " Tormenting the damned is a demeaning job... It's depresssing" (Jenkins 1).
This can be related to the real world. Many people's jobs can make them feel sad or depressed. Just like those real people, the main character just wanted a break.

One of the prominent themes in this book is that sometimes you just have to live your own life and do what you want to do. Sometimes people get sick of the same continuous circle of life. IN this book, the main character is fed up and decides to use his free will to have fun

This book has given me a lot of insight on life, specifically on how the world works. Some people don't get to live like we do and need a taste of the good life. The main character hadn't experienced many of the emotions and things we do," it's finally time for me to experience real life ( on earth)" ( Jenkins 4
