I was born and raised in St. Paul in the Dayton’s Bluff area, and basically lived in that area for most of my childhood. It was a drastic change when I moved to Blaine because there are so many cultural differences even though they’re only 10 to 20 miles apart. I felt like in St. Paul there was a sense of community and you knew everyone around you because everyone kinda just lived closer together due to the urban to suburban environment in the city. But when I moved to Blaine I felt like that sense of community is more spread throughout and not condensed like how I used to remember it. I still love this place I’m at though and are grateful for the changes that happen throughout my life.

What I did this Summer

This summer, I went out fishing a lot. And when I mean a lot, I mean it. I love fishing and it’s probably one of my most favorite hobbies to do. I also played a lot of indoor and outdoor volleyball with my friends and family. I participated in a family volleyball tournament and it was very fun even though my team placed last. I also went to Taylor Falls to visit the glacier potholes at the State Park. The potholes were varying with some being only as deep as a puddle while some were considered to be “endless.”

What’s going Well?

I feel like one thing going well in my life is my passion in my hobbies. For example, in fishing I am very open minded and want to hear what other anglers might say or any advice they give out. I want to learn as much as I can and pass that information down to people like me or people I know of. And for volleyball I am up for the challenge that the sport offers me and willing to be able to surpass what I thought to achieve in that sport. I am really motivated when I do something I love and will do anything to surpass who I was.

I really love listening to pop and hip hop but I listen to all genres of music and have a taste for all types of music. Something that people might not realize from looking at me is that I really love listening to Jazz when working or playing games.

My favorite Song

I think my favorite song is Out of Time by The Weeknd. I love its 90s themed beat and the whole song is just catchy in a sense.

Strengths, interests, and Needs

I feel like my strengths are having an open mind and agreeing on other things that I don’t agree on. I am really open minded and can really adapt to new things that I am usually not familiar with. I have many interests like fishing and volleyball but I have many other interests as well. I plan on going into the engineering field one day or be an fisheries manager as my career. I need many things like my own car or having a job so I can produce my own revenue. I want to become more independent but I fear I may lose a sense of self in the process. But I am willing to face the challenges that come ahead of me in my life.
