The second reason why it is important to study Rizal's writings is because we will know their struggles during the time of the Spaniards. And the third is to open the eyes of Filipinos about loving their country and knowing what the people did in the past for our country to succeed.

Jose Rizal inspires me to fight for our country no matter what because he became our national hero and led the Filipinos to start a revolution against the Spanish government through his knowledge and the power of his letters to give freedom to his fellow Filipino from the Spaniards. He is a good model of a hero that is willing to die for the good of his country. In the future, if I became a policeman I will give my best and I will sacrifice everything for our country even if I die I will fight for our country and I will be proud of myself.

He helped Filipinos, both men and women, gain strength, hope, and trust in God. I became a fanatic of Rizal’s works because his works provide profound truths to our lives. He showed the point of loving one's own language. I liked the one he said in his poem Sa Aking Mga Kabata, "He who does not love his own language is worse than an animal and smelly fish". This is important because love of one's own language is one of our identities as Filipinos and because of this point, it is a great instrument in our unity as citizens. It is a symbolism of freedom.

Only few uses talent and intelligence as weapon in fighting, even less on who succeeded, and Rizal accomplished an enormous task to free an entire country and inspire each and everyone for see their worth and ignited the nationalism in every Filipino. For us, Dr. Jose Rizal doesn't just symbolizes freedom and peace but also signifies core values that Filipino are known for today; they are very hopeful as Filipinos continue to shine their smiles even at hardest situations. They are able to work under heavy circumstances, some are even ready to sacrifice everything for the things that they love, a perfect examples are the overseas workers who works even if they're away from their families just like Rizal. Filipinos also have high dreams for themselves and for their country, in fact the People Power Revolution is one of the best example of the Filipino nationalism that is very close to what Rizal had done, desperate and eager to seek freedom. Such things require bravery, ethics, determination and resiliency, those are the paramount characteristics that a great hero would have or should have, and we all know Dr. Jose Rizal is the embodiment of these traits.

He never showed tiredness in giving us what we deserve, the freedom that the Spaniards took away from us. But because of his talents in making novels and poems he is capable in giving us freedom by only using his pens and notes. He fought for us silently without using deadly weapons. He never let himself have bloodstains by fighting hand on hand but instead he used his brain and talent to create reforms for us to be freed from Spaniards. I cannot imagine our country without him because he never stop dreaming and giving us freedom. If Dr. Jose Rizal will be reincarnated, I will help him to create reforms and fight what we deserve. I will wake them up  from being slave in their own country because "Slavery is ignorance".
