What platform Online Stopwatch is used for: Accessible on any digital device with Internet access 

An Example of using Online Stopwatch in an ECE classroom: The sensory timers can be used/projected onto a large screen and are great in any classroom. They also can be very helpful for children with autism, ADHD, sensory focus, hyperactivity issues, or anyone who is just distracted or anxious about the ticking numbers in the other timers. The other timers are excellent for learning numbers and the idea of time.

 

What platform Reading Eggs is used for: Accessible on any digital device with Internet access

 

An Example of using Reading Eggs in an ECE classroom: After students log in, they can choose to complete activities and games at their current level or access the songs to sing, books to read, and games to play. I tend to use Reading Eggs the most with 4-5 year old children to assist them with learning the sounds of the English alphabet.

 

What platform Twinkl is used for: Accessible on any digital device with Internet access / The Twinkl app is free and can also be downloaded on Apple or Android. 

 
An Example of using Twinkl in an ECE classroom: Twinkl has MANY printable worksheets, crafts, games, songs, PowerPoints, and many more math activities for pre-k children that will keep them engaged while also challenging them! The website also has their resources conveniently organized by learning center/areas/categories for quick access. My co-teachers have also taken advantage of their bilingual resources.

What platform Mathletics is used for: Google Play, Android, Smartphones, Computers – devices with internet access

 

An Example of using Mathletics in an ECE classroom: Mathletics can be used for older ECE children who have a big interest in math concepts. Reporting is based on a traffic light color system, so trouble spots are easily identified. Scores and number of attempts are viewable to help decide whether to repeat an activity or to step in with support. It has many interactives and videos; however, teacher support will probably be needed to guide the children throughout the program.

 

What platform ABCya is used for: ABCya Games App can be found on the App Store, Google Play and Amazon Appstore / available for iOs, Android and Amazon Kindle 

 

An Example of using ABCya in an ECE classroom: ABCya has many interactive games for learning or reviewing ABC letters, numbers, holidays, strategy and skill (building, patterns, matching, same/different, etc.). Personally, I have used the Fuzz Buggs game multiple times for counting, sorting and comparing.

 

What platform Starfall is used for: Android and iOS / Android emulators allow use of the apps on a personal computer as well. 

 

An Example of using Starfall in an ECE classroom: Sometimes there are ECE children who have a strong interest (and ability) in reading at an early age. At the heart of the Starfall’s site is its reading program categorized into four sections: ABCs, Learn to Read, It's Fun to Read, and I'm Reading. Usually ECE programs don’t have a specific reading ‘curriculum’ and Starfall can be an excellent resource for the children to use inside and outside the classroom.

What platform Education.com is used for: Web App (and device), iPad, Android, Chrome App

 

An Example of using Education.com in an ECE classroom: I’ve used this resource for years, mainly with older ECE children as it has an entire library full of age-appropriate printable worksheets, guided lessons, lesson plans, hands-on activities, interactives stories, song videos and science projects. I tend to use the hands-on activity ideas the most, but I have come to this website many times for ideas!
