I changed the camera to shutter priority by moving the dial on the top of the camera on the left side. I moved the dial to where it had an "S" on the line. To change the shutter speed I pressed the button that said "info" and then with another dial on the right of the camera, I changed it to have the different shutter speeds. If I moved it to the left it was a slower shutter speed. Likewise, if I moved it to the right it was a faster shutter speed. Every time we were asked to change the shutter speed we would have to press "info."
The slower the shutter speed. the brighter the photograph was and the more out of focus the subjects are. The faster the shutter speed was changed the more clear the image was captured and the darker the photograph turned out. Photographers would want to use shutter speed as priority to have more control of they want to have the image turn out, rather than just to have it on auto. Also, they would be able to change their shutter speed according to the movement of the subject to capture a clear image. A fast shutter would be best for sports or anything with fast motions. A slow shutter would be best for capturing things without much motion.
