Mother and Bao are having dinner at home. They have a fight. Bao runs away. Mother searches for him in the city. She finally finds him at her real son’s place. They have dinner and Mother makes up with Bao and her real son.

In my ending, Bao wouldn't come home to make amends with his mom for many years. Instead, only after his father's death, would Bao finally return home and reconnect with his mom.

An alternative ending to the short film could be that the mother does not eat Bao, instead learning to accept that he’s growing and becoming independent, while he also learns to prioritize his mother rather than abandoning his family a new life, reaching mutual compromise and understanding.
