How has the coronavirus affected you in a positive way or ways? I am writing this essay to let you know some of the positive ways coronavirus has effected me. Hopefully, you all will see some positives in your life too. While we all miss being in school and seeing our friends. I am still able to keep in touch with them by facetime and playing online games with them. I have been able to learn at home with technology these days. It has taken my classroom into my living room. Allowing me to share my school experience with my family in a more personal way. I am even able to teach my mom things she forgot to do in school and new ways to do math lessons. 

I like having my parents home with me. It brought us a lot closer. My mom has taken the time to help me sew on a sewing machine. We have painted together and played together. Another positive thing that has come from this virus is we all eat together at-home breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My grandma has also been able to teach me to cook some things. I'm learning all kinds of different but important skills I may not have learned otherwise like sewing, cooking, laundry, and cutting grass. So I guess I am saying the coronavirus has really strengthened my family unit. We are stronger together and depend on one another more than ever now.  

 I heard my mom say she hasn’t seen gas prices this low since she started driving. It's costing us a lot less to travel these days. With all the stores closed, we have not been going out and doing unnecessary spending. It's really saved my family some money. I started getting an increase in my allowance because of all the extra chores I'm helping with. The coronavirus has really made a difference in hygiene habits too. Now it is helping our health by having good handwashing practices. 

Even our environment has improved since the shutdown. Air pollution is 30% less because not as many people are driving and not as many factories are open. Oceans are cleaner and rivers too. All this means wildlife has improved. There are more birds chirping and fish swimming in clean environments. 

I guess my family is lucky my dad is a concrete finisher and his job was considered an essential trade in order to build homes. So he has been able to provide for our family during this time. I know a lot of people lost their jobs due to coronavirus. My aunt lost her job but I'm glad she lives with us so that she doesn’t have to pay rent and worry about losing her home. 

In conclusion, It isn’t so bad having the world come to a standstill. We can stop and appreciate the small things in life. Money is no longer the driving force it once was. I know my mom did some bartering for some eggs instead of exchanging money. I have also learned some really valuable lessons. How about you?

Phones are big distractions in class. With all the new apps and social media around these days, you can never really get a kid to be interested in learning. Phones are huge distractions, it could take kids from math to Instagram in a second. These kids are not paying attention in learning there off thinking what they're going to post next. It’s good for kids to get off screen time and focause in the real world. Phones should not be out in school.

When phones are out there is no limit for what they can do to hurt people. When kids have their phones out at least one of them, they could be posting rumors with social media. These kids will be embarrassed and or hurt. When they have easy access to their phones the rumors start there. When one phone is out in school it could hurt hundreds. 

With phones having calculators and google and other apps to access today, these kids could be cheating on tests. When young children could slip phones out of their desk they could easily go on google or the calculator for a test. These kids aren’t going to stop this cheating if they have an easy reach to their phone. Kids can not be able to have their phones in easy reach. Phones at school are just a bad idea.

Kids should not be able to use phones in class. Phones are big distractions in class. When kids have phones they can really hurt people. Cheating is what kids think of having a phone in class. Phones in class is just not a good idea.
