대본

Hello. Today I will introduce three species endemic to Korea.
First, here is the table of contents:

Korean Spotted Sleeper

Seoul Frog

Korean Spotted Sleeper / Spotted Sleeper

Let me begin with the first species, the Korean Spotted Sleeper.
This fish is endemic to Korea, and it lives in clear streams with slow flow, usually among gravel beds or in cracks between rocks. It eats small crustaceans, aquatic insects, and small fish. Because it is sensitive to environmental changes, it can only survive in clean water. It is classified as an endemic species because it naturally exists only in certain Korean streams and is not found in other regions.

Next, the second species is the Seoul Frog.
The Seoul Frog is also a Korean endemic species. It lives in rice paddies or wetlands. Its diet is mainly small insects and insect larvae. Its behavior includes breeding from May to June, and males continue their calls until late summer. The reason it is endemic is that it naturally occurs only in Korea and does not exist in other countries.

Finally, the third species is the Spotted Sleeper.
Its habitat is in the middle to upper reaches of clean, unpolluted streams. It feeds on aquatic insects and crustaceans. Its reproductive habit is that it spawns in May–June, and the male guards the eggs and even protects the young after spawning. The reason it is an endemic species is that it is a freshwater fish found naturally only in Korea.

Thank you for watching my presentation.

First of all, I will present about CONSERVATION OF DMZ BIODIVERSITY

South Korea has a demilitarized zone called the DMZ that civilians cannot step into for peace with North Korea. Recently, interest in the DMZ has been growing. South Korea has a demilitarized zone called the DMZ that civilians cannot step into for peace with North Korea. This is because there is no civilian step, so there is less pollution and biodiversity preservation is good. Therefore, the country set up a research institute and related legislation to study the DMZ in 2012 Next, I will present Act on the Protection and Management of Wildlife

Korea has designated the Wildlife Conservation and Management Act to protect wildlife. The law regularly restores and manages habitats by dividing endangered animals into first and second classes at a rate of disappearance, prohibits the capture of such animals, and works to protect and manage wildlife in connection with international agreements such as the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES)

This is the end of the presentation, and thank you for listening to my presentation until the end.

Hello, I'm Ok Do-hoon, and I'm presenting about endangered species in Korea. I'll start the presentation now.

First, let's take a look at the Korean tiger, the symbol of the Korean Peninsula and the disappeared king of Mount Baekdu.

The Korean tiger is a mammal, measuring between 2.7 and 3.3 m long for males and 2.4 to 2.6 m for females. Weighing in at around 180 kg to 300 kg for males and 100 kg to 160 kg for females. It is the largest tiger and has thick fur that has adapted to the cold environment.

It used to inhabit the entire Korean Peninsula, but now it is only found in parts of Russia and China. The main prey are wild boars and deer, and it is carnivorous.

They are believed to have already disappeared domestically and are classified as endangered species internationally. The causes of extinction include massive capture of Japanese colonial era, habitat destruction due to development, food shortages, and poaching.

Next, let's take a look at the disappearing paddy wetland guardian golden frog.

Gold frogs are amphibians, about 5 to 7 cm in size. They have gold stripes on their backs and their bodies are green.

Its habitat is mostly in the central plains, including paddy fields, wetlands, and reservoirs. It is carnivorous, and it mainly eats insects and invertebrates.

It is classified as a Class 2 endangered species in Korea and as a vulnerable species internationally. Causes of extinction include the reduction of wetlands, the use of pesticides, environmental pollution, and the influx of foreign species.

Finally, let's take a look at the scavenger eagle in the sky.

Eagles are birds and are the world's largest birds of prey, with a wingspan of about 2.5m to 3m and a body length of about 1m.

The body is covered with brown feathers, and the head and neck areas are hairless and have thick bones. It lives in Korea, including Cheorwon and Pyeongchang, in winter and in Mongolia and Russia in summer.

The main prey is the carcass of a dead animal, and it acts as a cleaner for the ecosystem.

It is classified as a Class 1 endangered species in Korea and as a vulnerable species internationally. Causes of extinction include food shortages, addiction, crashes, and habitat destruction.

Today, we learned about endangered species in Korea, Korean tigers, golden frogs, and eagles.

We must continue our protection and preservation efforts to protect these precious lives.

That's it for the presentation. Thank you.

Hello, my name is Gayeon, and today I would like to share two examples of how countries protect endangered animals.

The first example is China’s work to protect the Giant Panda.

The giant panda has been one of the most famous endangered animals for a long time.

Because of low birth rates and the loss of their natural homes, their numbers became very small.

To solve this, the Chinese government started protection programs in the 1960s.

They created panda reserves, and now there are about 67 of them.

They also used breeding programs and worked with other countries to help pandas have more babies.

In addition, they planted bamboo forests so the pandas would have enough food.

Thanks to these efforts, in 2016 the International Union for Conservation of Nature, or IUCN, changed the panda’s status from “Endangered” to “Vulnerable.”

This was seen as a very positive result around the world.

The second example is Kenya’s efforts to protect rhinos.

African rhinos lost many of their numbers because of illegal hunting.

The northern white rhino is now almost extinct, with only two females left.

To stop this, the Kenyan government and international groups hired armed rangers to protect the rhinos from hunters.

In reserves like the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, rhinos are carefully looked after.

Scientists are also using new technologies such as artificial insemination and in vitro fertilization to try to save the species.

Because of these actions, the southern white rhino and the black rhino populations are slowly growing again.

In conclusion, China has helped the giant panda move away from the risk of extinction, and Kenya is protecting rhinos through strong security and new science.

This shows how different countries use different methods to protect endangered animals.

That is the end of my presentation. Thank you.

Hello everyone. Today, I will talk about biodiversity policies in Korea.

Biodiversity means having many kinds of animals and plants living together.

It is very important because nature gives us clean air, food, and water.

If biodiversity is lost, humans will also have many problems.

The first policy is establishing and managing protected areas.

The government creates national parks ans wildlife reserves.

Theses areas are safe habitats for endangered animals and plants.

People can visit these places and enjoy nature,

but they also learn the importance of protecting the environment.

So, protected areas help both animals and humans.

The second policy is endangered species consevation program.

This program protects animal and plants at risk.

laws stop hunting, and the government helps restore habitats and breed species.

Examples of protected animals include otters, Asiatic black bears, and green tree frog.

In conclusion, biodiversity is very important for the balance of nature and for human life.

By protecting endangered animals and their habitats,

we are also protecting our own future.

Thank you for listening.

I looked into some cases of endangered species protection in other countries around the world. First, the iconic Chinese animal called the Panda has a very low reproduction rate, so it has been upgraded from Endangered by the IUCN standard and is in the vulnerable stage. And pandas have white fur with dark hair around their eyes, ears, and legs. They also have bamboo, and they are mammals. Second, they are the White-Headed Eagle, an American animal. White-headed eagles, with yellow beaks, belong to the Suridae family, which mainly eats fish. However, the white-headed eagle was endangered because of the use of pesticide DDT, which accumulated toxicity in the food chain, resulting in a sharp decline in eggshells, reckless hunting and environmental pollution. At that time, there were only about 400 pairs left across the United States. Therefore, the United States banned the use of pesticide DDT and made efforts to preserve their habitats, and in 2007, they were removed from the endangered species list. That's all I'm done with my presentation. Thank you.

Hello, I will talk about how some countries protect animals that are in danger.

First, in Kenya, they protect rhinos and elephants from hunters. If someone kills an elephant in Kenya, the law punishes them. They also use eco-tourism to help keep the animals safe.

Second, in China, they protect pandas. They help pandas have babies, and some pandas are sent back to the wild. They also make forest paths so pandas can meet pandas from other places.

Today, I talked about how Kenya and China protect animals in danger. I hope all countries work hard to keep endangered animals safe.

Hello, I'm Geonhu. Let me introduce three species that are native to Korea. First, let me explain about the Suwon tree frog. It only lives in some parts of Gyeonggi Province, Chungcheong Province, North Jeolla Province, and South Jeolla Province. Contrary to its name, it is not a species that only lives in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. And the Suwon tree frog's main prey is insects. For example, it eats crickets, flies, mosquitoes, and earthworms. And the Suwon tree frog lives in low-lying areas, such as wetlands and rice paddies, and tends to choose spawning areas with water. The reason why the Suwon tree frog is endemic was first discovered in rice paddies in Suwon in 1977, and genetic and morphological investigations found it to be different from ordinary tree frogs. Second, I will explain about the Geoje salamander. The Geoje salamander is found only in the south-central and some annexed islands, and its habitat is limited to small areas of the island. And it ate land food such as insects and earthworms, or shrimp in the water. And now, it tends to prefer the water-soluble environment because it is found in the middle of the stream. The reason the Geoje salamander has become endemic in Korea is that its habitat is limited only to the southeastern part of Geoje Island. Finally, I will explain about the dry ocopus. It lives in well-developed areas and prefers wooded areas. Dryocopus mainly eats insects such as ants. It mainly lives in the forest and peckes at trees with its beak and eats insects such as ants to form a nest. Dryocopus is endemic to Korea because it has its own ecological status and geographical distribution that only exists on the Korean Peninsula.

Today, we will learn about endangered species in Korea. The order will be the Golden Eagle, Asiatic Black Bear, and the Freshwater Tortoise.

First, the scientific name of the Golden Eagle is Aquila Chrysaetos japonica SEVERTZOV. Its characteristics include brown and golden-colored feathers. Its habitat includes cliffs, precipices, and mountainous areas. It preys on small rodents like mice, frogs, snakes, amphibians, and reptiles. In winter, it feeds on the carcasses of dead animals or fish. The reason the Golden Eagle has been designated as an endangered species is due to the destruction of its habitat caused by urbanization in Korea and the decrease in the population of its prey, which has led to a decline in the number of Golden Eagles.

Next, the scientific name of the Asiatic Black Bear is Urasus thibetanus ussuricus. Its characteristics include black and white fur. It lives in broadleaf forests and mixed forests such as those in Jirisan and Seoraksan. Its diet includes acorns, raspberries, chestnuts, other tree fruits, insects, honey, bird eggs, and small mammals. The reason the Asiatic Black Bear has been designated as an endangered species is that bear hunting was widely practiced in Korea until the 1970s.

Lastly, the scientific name of the Freshwater tortoise is Mauremys reevesii. Its characteristic is having a hard shell. It lives in the upper reaches of unpolluted mountain valleys. It feeds on dead fish. The freshwater tortoise has been designated as an endangered species because it was excessively captured due to rumors that it is good for human health, and for use in traditional medicine or as pets.

Hello everyone,I’m Kim Bom . Today, I’ll introduce about two policies to protect endangered species in korea!!Let’s start the presentation!!~

The first policy is the designation and management of ecological protection zones, The government designates important areas such as national parks and forests as protected areas,Strictly restricts acts of damage such as development.

The second policy is strengthening legal regulation and public engagement!	In Korea, wildlife laws strictly prohibit capture, distribution, and damage of endangered species. And It operates a national reporting system and reports illegal activities to the competent environmental agency. That's how precious and indispensable endangered species in Korea are.!

In other words, protection of endangered species is a very important issue!! Thank you for listening to my presentation!

Have a great day!
