Picture Book

I liked this book. I found it cute and a good book for new readers. I also liked it for being able to use it for a picture walk. The pictures are very funny and children would love them. 
This book would be good for children who are getting comfortable with reading. The pictures in the book would help students see what is really going on and help them decipher some words they may not be comfortable with yet. 
I could use this book to teach about helping friends you see in need. If someone has a mess and needs some help cleaning, go and help. Picture Book

I loved this book because the pictures are great to look at and the story is intriguing for students. It is not too long,so it can keep the student's attention while also teaching them a good lesson.
This book is good for children who are readers who would like to expand their vocabulary. It has many big words that new readers would struggle with, but students who are comfortable reading would benefit from seeing the bigger words. 
I would use this book to teach about teamwork. Swim must work as a team with the other little fish to scare away the big fish. This would be a good book to read when teaching the class about working together. Picture Book

I have always liked this book because it is easy for students to follow along with the story. Students get excited when they can begin chanting along after it being read a few times to them. It is also a good book to have in the student library so that the students can match the words they know to chant with the words on the pages. 
This book is good for beginning readers. With the repetition of words, it is easy of them to figure out the words they do not know. It also repeats common sight words though out the whole book, to make it easier on new readers. 
I would use this book to teach colors to young children. Each animal is a different color, and it helps them identify the color word. There are also many activities for coloring or matching the animal with the right color. I could also use this book to teach habitats. Picture Book

This book is such a cute book for students. The pigeon is so expressive and opinionated, that it makes it a fun read and fun for the students to hear. 
This is a good book for first or second grade readers. There are not a lot of words through out the books, but they are words that might be harder for some readers. 
This book would be great to talk about opinion writing. The whole book is about the pigeon telling his opinion about why he should be able to get a puppy. It models for students what opinion statements are. Picture Book

I like this book because it puts a new spin on the classic fairy tales. It mixes up parts of the book and i just a fun read. The pictures are also great to look at because they're almost as quirky as the book itself.
This book would be interesting to children to enjoy the original fairy tales. It would also be enjoyable to students who tend to like post-modern books. 
I would use this book to teach about the parts of a book and about narrators. Through out the entire book, the narrator is explaining how he is putting the book together. This gives children the opportunity to explain what is wrong with how the book is set up. It also allows teachers to talk about the narrator of the story and which person it is. I enjoy this book because it is cute book and everyone enjoys the cute mouse and loving kid. It is always fun to see what the mouse will want and I always find something I forgot he asked for. 
This book would be interesting to all children, but especially ones who enjoy animal or silly books. This is a book I know many children enjoy and is an easy read for new and experienced readers. 
I would use this book to teach about predictions. It is a good book predict what the mouse might want because there are many ties it does not finish the sentence until the next page. I enjoyed this book because it gives important information about lions and the savannah, but tells it in a way that seems like a story. Children who read this book will end up learning a lot about about these things without thinking they are learning. It also gives an index in the back of all of the animals you can see in the book, so that children can look up other animals in the savannah if they want.
This book would be interesting to students who like animals, especially lions. It would also be a good book for a student interested in learning about Africa. It is a good book for beginning readers because it is not too advanced, and has many sight words.
I would use this book to teach about habitats. It is a good introductory to the savannah. I liked this book because it is packed full of different kinds of things to talk about. It goes through the entire life cycle of a pumpkin, but also talks about the biggest one ever, how to decorate a pumpkin, and even how to pilgrims and indians had pumpkins. It has a lot of information that can be a one-stop-shop for and child.
This book would be interesting for children interested in pumpkins in general, children interested in how to carve a pumpkin, or a child interested in Thanksgiving. It is a little advanced in vocabulary, so it would be an ideal book for older grades. 
I would use this book to teach the life cycle of plants. This book does a good job going through the entire life cycle of the pumpkin and even which seasons it is planted and harvested in. I enjoy this book because it tells Bach's story in first person. It makes you think he is the one talking to you and telling his story. I enjoyed how they made it simple and beautiful instead of extremely serious and boing to children. 
This book would be interesting to children who enjoy music or know of the composer Bach. It gives a nice story about how he understood music and came to love it. But in the back, it also gives a more serious, in-depth look at his life as well so the mixture may also be good for children to see.
I would use this book to teach about Bach and music. He is a very historical figure. I enjoyed this book because it gives the life cycle in a cute, and easily understood way. It also doesn't only focus on the life cycle and has a story-like quality to it with the thunderstorm. I also enjoyed the lovely illustrations that I think would capture kids' attention.
This book would be interesting to a child who likes flamingos or someone interested in animal life cycles. It would also be good for a child who enjoys bright pictures or who needs the pictures to help them understand the story. This book would be good for most readers, because it has some more advanced vocabulary, but not so much that a child who not be able to tell what is going on.

I enjoyed this book because it talks about the water cycle in a way that is easy for children to understand, I also liked that it talked about different kinds of weather can be and even went into talking about how plants take in water.

I enjoyed this book because it is a conversation between the moon and the girl with the moon telling everything it does in a way that is creative and relatable for children. I liked that the hard facts of the book are there in parenthesis, so that you can read it with the moon saying the things it does in a silly way while also being able to further explain the children exactly why the moon is so important. 
This book would be interesting to children who enjoy learning about space or the moon. It would also be kind of interesting to any other child just because it does have the feel of a picture book, and the sections of just facts are short to the side.
I would use this book to teach about the moon and everything it does. I could use this in a space unit or even when talking about the ocean and tides. I enjoyed this book because it is set up like a picture book, with the story of this girl getting a dog, being the main focus. It is an easy story for children to follow because it sounds like a story a child would write about getting a dog. Real, interesting facts about dogs are hidden in smaller text around when a similar thing is said in the main story. This would make some of the facts easier to remember for some kids because they could think about what was happening in the story around the time they heard a fact. 
This book would be interesting for any child interested in dogs or interested in how to take care of dogs. This book goes through many good facts that someone might not think about when looking into how to take care of a dog. (Ex. "A chew toy is useful because dog need to chew. It's natural, calming, and good for their teeth.)
I would use this book to teach about animals and what animals need to survive. I could also use this book during a pet unit. I enjoyed this story because when I was growing up, I remember hearing strange sounds around the house and getting scared. This is a cute book that explains what the noises really are, while also showing that the boy in the book thinks they are monsters, just like normal kids do sometimes. 
This would would be interesting to children who like books about monsters or any child who is curious about what is going on in their house at night. 
I would use this book when teaching about emotions to show that some times when we fear something, there is a reasonable explanation. I would also use this book to help teach about onomatopoeias. When his friends help him think of things for his story, he begins to write many pages and realizes he enjoys writing. I enjoyed this book because every girl wants to be a princess when they grow up, so a story about a girl who is going to school to be one, is a girl's dream. This book reminds me of exactly what I liked to read in my childhood. It has a relatable main character and a strong role models for girls.

I liked this book because it gives an all-real look at a girls life. It shows exactly what a students may be going through at home in their lives. It gives an accurate depiction of having to live with someone with a special needs and why we need to be talking care of them too.
This book would be interesting for anyone who does have a sibling or relative with a disability. It would also be interesting for any elementary school girl. It has so many real-life problems like boys and friends, that it is so relatable on more than one level.

I liked this book because it is a funny book dealing with visual humor. There is no plot, but the many little stories told within the book are so cute and funny.
This book would be enjoyable to a student who likes traditional comics. This book is made of little page-length comics that are put together about one main character. A student who enjoys newspaper comics would enjoy this book.
I would use this book to teach inference. There are few words throughout the book, yet the reader can get a fully story by looking at each page. I enjoyed this book because I remember reading these books as a child and relating so much to Junie. It is a story many students could relate to and connect with, in a way where the author is speaking and re-telling just as they would.
This book would be interesting for mostly girls. It is about a girl in elementary school who deals with things other girls in elementary school would be able to relate to. It would be great books for a student to pick up and see that everyone goes through the same things. 
I would use this book to teach about honesty. In the end, she learns that to really have someone like you, you just need to be honest with them. I enjoyed this book because it has a powerful message that is explained beautifully through pictures. There are no words, but you are able to understand the deep meaning of this book by the vividness of the illustrations.
This book would be interesting for students who are concerned with what is going on in the world today. A child who is in touch with what is going on in the rest of the world would be able to tune into what is happening in the book very easily.
I would use this book to teach about what happens in other countries. It is an easy way to show what happens in part of the world when people share their opinions. I enjoyed this book beaus it is lighthearted, but still get to topics that are relatable to any elementary school student, such as meeting new friends in camp. The graphics in this story are great and really help the reader understand the story.
This book would be enjoyable for any elementary school girl. Phoebe struggles with what people think of her, machine new friends, and other things that are really relatable to girls in elementary school. She even has a pet unicorn, and every little girl wants that.
I would use this book to teach about being comfortable enough to be you. I enjoyed this book beause it gives great insight into the relationship of sisters. The author does a great job of making this an easy read and making you relate to the characters so by the end you just wanted more.
This book would be enjoyable for mostly young girls, who may be struggling with the same sibling or parent issues. It is very relatable to young girls who are struggling to find their place somewhere.
I would use this book to teach about the character's emotions. This story is a roller coaster of emotions for Raina, and a lot of these emotions and situations are relatable for students. I liked this book because it does an amazing job at explaining all that bees do for the world, in a way that is enjoyable to look at and understandable for kids.
This book would be interesting for any child who is interested in animals and what animals do for the environment.
I would use this book to teach about all the good bees do in the world. I could teach about the eco system and the niches in the environment, tying in what roles bees play in many different parts of the environment. I would also talk about what we could do to help save the bees and other animals.
