Egypt is known for some of its beautiful architecture in the main cities of Memphis and the Valley of the Kings, however, Egypt has remnants of these old structures across the entirety of the country. Much of Egypt is modernized, however, the artifacts from the past are still protected as they are considered as important revenants from the beginning of modern design and technology. The true beauty of these revenants of the past really are the intricate design, as well as, the level of detail in each monument, curve, and brick laid down for longevity.

Everyone knows Egypt for the Pyramids of Giza, however, many people do not know that there are several great tombs scattered across Egypt including the Saqqara, the Pyramid of Djoser, or the Bent Pyramid. These man-made monuments hold great secrets to our past and are also all unique to their time period and the King/Queen they hold inside. There is a level of mystery with every pyramid and exploration when seeing these larger than life structures.

The Nile River is the world’s longest river ranging 4, 132mi according to National Geographic. Once the most important waterway to the ancient world, this water source is still bustling with ships for trade and transportation. The Nile River is a beautiful slice through the landscape of Egypt that shows a much more lush side of Egypt that we particularly do not focus on.

Falafel is a very common middle eastern, eastern African dish consistent of fried fava beans and sometimes filled with other vegetables. Falafel is served with humus. This is the first food I have given a try when dining in Mediterranean cuisine, however, I would love to try a more authentic spin on this dish.

Though not heavily practiced in modern Egypt, many people still see the practices of the Ancient Egyptians as sacred as well as many of their temples. The temple in Siwa Oasis, is a very sacred area in the region. I love learning about Siwa and the Temple of Amun as the ancient Egyptians believed that secrets of the world lie beneath this temple dedicated to the sun god. Regardless of the conspericies, this temple is beyond beautiful and a true master piece of this society.
