His main point is almost to attack people's ethical values, he is testing them by saying that it's almost ungodly to not state his opinions. As if it is his mission from God to speak before the Virginia Convention. It also might have been his way of justifying his opinion, by saying that God had ordered him to want war. Henry uses an interesting choice of word in this quote. He is blatantly saying that everyone is keeping a blind eye to the issue, and that they are willingly ignoring it. Yet he words it in a way to almost say, well everyone else does it so it's not surprising. This is another main point found in the text. When he says 'they' he is referring to the British navies and armies that have accumulated in America. This point is stressed a lot, making sure that whoever reads it knows that war will happen even if they don't want it to. This is his main persuasive fact, his rock in the storm.
