Desde 1957 se propone en su accionar la construcción, investigación, intercambio y difusión de conocimientos relativos a las artes del movimiento, con el objeto de concretar la formación y capacitación de profesionales, desde una oferta educativa que comprende programas de Pregrado, Grado Docente y Técnico Profesional en las orientaciones: Danza Clásica, Danza Contemporánea, Danzas Folklóricas, Expresión Corporal y Tango.

A través de su programa de extensión y actividad comunitaria (Ballet infantil y Juvenil), favorece el desarrollo y crecimiento de la cultura regional.
