Does your school offer course options that compete for students? For example, some schools offer 5 different options for English Language Arts? What factors are at play? ELD student and Newcomers are carefully placed in IB courses that allow for access and participation.

Choice for students is essential for buy-in.

Train all teachers in IB

Courses that are not IB (ELD and SPED in particular) can be structured in ways that reflect IB to prepare students to enter IB course when they are ready.

Jenny Greenblatt - I've been an Assistant Head of School for the last 8 years and an MYP coordinator for 2 before that. I co-led the IB Language & Literature for All expansion from 2020-2024 (now all Juniors are taking IB SL or HL Lang&Lit) at a large, urban, public high school of ~4200 students.
