She had passion in writing beceuse of African American teacher that read poetry in a soft voice. Ruth went to NYU and finished in 3 years, her esseys were later sent to the Atlantic Harper and other places but they all were rejected. Ruth later moved to Gemany for a fellowship at the University of Colonge. She had encouragement from her proffessor and finished her PhDs in one year becoming the youngest PhD in the world. Even though che had a PhD there weren't any jobs for her back home, eo she becamee Special Assistent who escorted Jewish refugees from Italy to the United States. the witnessed horribles stories of what they did to the refugees. She was 88 at her reunion and she realized that rescuing the refugees was the assignment of her life, even though she may had been a writer but her life will always be about rescue and survival
