Thomas Hobbes believed that the best government was the monarchy and that was the only good government. He thought that the monarchy was guaranteed peace. He believed that any ordered government was bound to have a civil war.

Another philosophy he had was that the sovereign should have complete control over the country. Not all monarchs have that. He thinks that the king should say who owns what, what you worship, who works where.

Thomas Hobbes influenced the US government by giving the idea that every country needs a strong central government. Thomas thought that the government should protect their citizens and now our government does just that. He also had influence on the Constitution by saying that all citizens should have equal rights. They also should have equal protection. Hobbes had the social contract theory that was giving up some rights for security which influenced the Declaration of Independence.

I disagree with that. The leader of a country should never have all the power. If a country has a monarchy then the king can do whatever he wants, he could kill people if he thought they were guilty, make any law he wanted, ETC.
