STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES OF INFORMATION PROCESSING MODEL

• It focuses on the individual as a thinker and is not as simplistic as the earlier behaviourist theory. 
• The theory recognizes that humans have different memory stores and information is transferred from one part of memory to another.
• Shows that human have powerful selective attentions.
• Infinite long term memory store.

• The information processing model looks at the human mind as a computer and does not take emotion into content.
• Low capacity working memory.
• Fast decaying working memory.
• Efficiency of access to long term memory really depends on how well the individual has processed the information.

• Using Kahoot application so students can recall the things they have learned by answering quiz.
• Utilize visual aids in education where it could help the students to remember, think, imagine and link different ideas.
• Give students assignments or quizzes using Padlet or Socrative application where it could improve students’ long term memory. 

• Ask questions that improve students’ skills and motivate them to think.
• Assist students to distinguish between the important and unimportant details in the lesson.
• Allow students to repeat and classify the task information.
• Assist students to link new information with their past experiences.
