Help your kid to set up a project, that involves: how to plant seeds, read a book about seeds, observe the growth of the plants with different amounts of water, and document ( draw) their growth.

Have a conversation with your child while planting seeds e.g.; bean, radish, grass, asking how to plant the seeds and making guesses about how big the plants will get and how long it will take before the plants begin to grow.

Each day talk about the changes that you observe: What did the bean look like yesterday? What does it look like today? How does it look different? Take photos  and talk about the sequence of the changes.

Language: Tongue Twister!

Read the tongue twister with your child. Can you say it three times fast? Use the internet to find other tongue twisters. Or come up with your own, if you create a silly one please let us know!

 

Art + Science: DIY FOSSILS. Make your own fossils. Use this quick video DIY Dino dig, then press small animals, dinosaurs and nature objects into the dough. You can make impressions, you can bury the fossils outside or hide them around the house. 

Snack: Bake chocolate chip cookies or use store bought. You can try this recipe Chocolate chip cookies

Use two toothpicks to carefully “excavate” the chocolate chips from the cookie. Put the “dirt” (crumbs) in a pile and the “bones” (chocolate chips) in another. See who excavated the most chocolate chips.

out in the yard. I think it was easier for him to manipulate objects when he didn’t have to handle the flashlight AND an object.  I traced his shadow, then he traced mine. We traced the shadow of a flower in our yard. We also looked at the shadow from some things we had out in our yard. Thank Maggie (Ori's Mom) for sharing this picture!
