When Linda Sue Park writes, she also uses some of her life's experiences. For example, in the books we are reading, she uses some of her parents experiences, and reflects off of the events in Korea.  
  Her parents were Korean immigrants, who fled from Korea and arrived in the U.S. Linda Sue Park was born on the edge of Chicago, Illinois, and grew the passion of writing. For example, In the novel The Kite Fighters it says "Always the oldest son represents the family. When you see the king, ask him if he would be so good as to grant my wish for kee-sup to fly the kite at the festival."
