Linda Sue Park is a very fun, happy author. She enjoys what she does, and she does it well. One fun fact about her is; she is the daughter of Korean immigrants. Her inspiration for her book "A Long Walk To Water" was a refugee of South Sudan named Salva. Park says she was so excited to hear about Salva's story, she decided to write a book about South Sudan, with Salva part of the book.

Linda Sue Park inspiration for her writing was that she was a daughter of korean immigrants. This big part in her life gave her the idea for her books. Also, korean culture is really amazing and full of traditions. For example, In the novel The Kite Fighters it says "Always the oldest son represents the family. When you see the king, ask him if he would be so good as to grant my wish for kee-sup to fly the kite at the festival." This shows that the tradition in this novel is that the older sibling represents the family more than the younger sibling.

The woman jumping one after another from the cliff, their beautiful silk dresses bellowing in the air-pink, red, green, blue...indeed, like flowers falling.,"(A Single Shard,)
One example of dialogue is,"'A mistake with good in your heart is still a mistake, but it is one for which you must forgive yourself '".

Korean culture has changed drastically overtime, and it has become something bigger and somewhat better than the older times of Korea. Back then, there were small villages, and people trusted each other. They could live without rules. Now, since Korea has a lot bigger population, Korea has rules.
