A common example of mortal sin is adultery because it is an extreme opposition to the teaching of God. Adulterants are mortal sinners because they understand the immorality of evil of their intentional act and are not forced by any circumstance to do it. People commit adultery due to lust which blinds them from their relationship with God, and therefore destroy the bridge between themselves and the Kingdom of God.

The only exceptional circumstance in which adultery is accepted is a woman performing as a surrogate. I know today the process involves artificial insemination, but way back in time when that was not available is what should be focused on. In this instance, the circumstance is acceptable which removes this certain act out of the mortal sin category, and out of the sin category completely. It is rightful for others to assist others to create a family, no matter how odd it may appear.

An everyday venial sin is speaking God's name in vain or just cursing in general. This is a minor violation in comparison to mortal sins and can be easily corrected because it only sickens relationship between individual and God, not completely break it. It is not always one's intention to curse, and it normally depends on circumstances to determine whether or not it is justifiable.

There is not exactly any excuses for cursing because it is 99% of the time a voluntary action in which the person fully understands what they are doing. However, instances in which you are startled, it is understandable if you accidentally release a curse. You may stub your toe and instantly curse words are triggered without you even thinking about. Some actions are just natural and cannot be countered by the morality of an individual.
