         <title>Roles of the Presidency</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>1. Chief Executive - Responsible for appointing 2,000+ federal officials, who oversee the work of about 2,000,000 civilian employees of the federal government. He has the power to issue executive orders, most likely during an emergency or when congress fails to take action in an important issue. </p><p>2. Chief of State - the ceremonial leader of the government. In this position the president represents the United States at official functions, both in the US and in foreign countries, such as meeting foreign leaders. The last part of this job is to promote national spirit</p><p>3. Commander in Chief - Is head of the armed forces. He is in charge of the operations of the US military and overall security of the nation. </p><p>4. Chief Diplomat - oversees US foreign policy, talks and negotiates treaties with foreign leaders. He seeks advise and seeks consent of the Senate. </p><p>5. Chief Policy Maker - He has significant influence over the legislative process and normally sets a policy agenda for Congress in his annual state of the union address. He may propose legislation and pressure Congress to support or oppose certain bills. He can call Congress into special session and veto bills. </p><p>6. Chief Manager of the Economy - No formal power over the economy, however he can work with Congress to write a federal budget and set a federal tax policy. He has the power to appoint members of the Federal Reserve Board, who controls money supply and a sustainable economy. </p><p>7. Chief of Party - Leader of his political party and  has great influence over party members in congress towards his political party. </p><p>8. Chief Citizen - Strives to embody American ideals, and serve the nation by acting in it's best interests, mainly to inform, inspire, and comfort the American people. </p>]]></description>

         <title>Formal Qualifications of the Presidency</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The president must be a native-born citizen, be at-least 35 years old and, lived in the country for at-least 14 years. No president that has been elected twice or served one full term plus more than half of another term can seek the office again. </p><p>Historically some informal qualifications that prior presidents have been white, male, from the upper middle class, and have had some form of background in business, law or public service. </p><p>The top three characteristics we look for in a President is someone who values the importance of woman in the economy and business world, someone who takes action in all the social classes not just upper class, and someone who has strong moral values and uses the peoples opinion to decide the national decisions. </p>]]></description>
