         <description><![CDATA[<div>CONFLICT MOTIVATION THEORIES<br>* approach-approach: you must chose between 2 desirable outcomes (conflict)<br>*avoidance-avoidance: you must choose between 2 undesirable outcomes(either chose neither or only half do both)<br>*approach-avoidance: one event or goal has attractive and unattractive features<br>*multiple approach-avoidance: choose between 2+ things which both have pros and cons (deciding between 2 colleges that have both good and bad features)<br>THEORIES OF EMOTION<br>* James- Lange theory: arousal comes before the emotion (fear=pounding heart)<br>*cannon-bard theory: arousal comes at the same time as emotion<br>* schachter-singer theory: arousal paired with a cognitive label then the emotion<br>6 EMOTIONS<br>fear<br>joy&nbsp;<br>surprise<br>anger<br>disgust<br>sadness<br>*opponent process theory: you experience an emotion and then you experience the opposite right after (fear=calm)(happy=sad)</div>]]></description>
