I liked the book because it was very interesting to read how racism predominated before. At the same time, I feel sad because if I were in the place of Jefferson I could feel so scared of knowing that I will die.

I like the book because I was able to realize the way that white and colored people used to live their life, it wasn't easy specially for black people but I think everything they did, leave a big mark in life and make a progress in the next generations.

I liked the book because there you can find many lessons that maybe are useful for our daily life. Though, I think is kinda cruel the whole story, its historical background context to be more specific when it talks about racism.
However, I think in the story left many unresolved things. For example, how continue Grant and Vivian´s relationship after the last argue? I mean, yeah.. the whole story talks most about Jefferson but I think this couple was important.
As last comment, I had hoped Jefferson would not die but he did but I am satisfied he could grow up as person and love himself :(

This story was a totally exciting journey in which I could feel the development of the emotions and thoughts in Grant's character. At the beginning, he was trying to show us the rude or serious personality he thought he had had all his life, but as we move forward into the story we can see his humanity and how not only him but also all the black characters in the story had to go through in their lives as well as how hard was for them to keep fighting for their rights and still avoid the difficulties that were still present in the time the story was written.
