Now and days same sex gender either live together or married. As teachers we need to know who are the parents of your child in class and know the right things to say. Try to get to know the parents, get together and know the house hold, how the children are being raised at home, work together. Don't only get together with the same sex parents, but with all your students parents so everyone can know what to say to your children.

What Do You Tell Your Students

In this generation, children should know what is going around their world. Try to make it a topic in class. Have your children go home and ask questions to their parents and see what they think about what their parents opinion is. Show them a video of two same gender relation and let them be openminded. Children should know that it is okay to have same sex relations or male and female relation. A student in your class could have parents with same sex relationship and you do not want your children to stare and bully their classmate family.

Blue or Pink

Children at a small age already questions them self if its okay what they like or what to wear to match their gender. Of course we all know boys should be wearing blue or dark colors and girls pink or light colors. A child at 5 or younger can already say "Im a boy" or "Im a girl". A little girl can grow up being a tomboy. Hang around with boys, be tough, or even cut their hair short. Some of those girls end up growing to love dresses and and crushing a boy. Others do decide to be a boy and like girls, transgender. Let your children be who they want to be and hang around with who they feel comfortable with. Yes you can explain what is wrong or right. But show them that you respect their decision and tell them its okay to play dolls or play in the mud. It will be their decision what they want to be when they grow up.

Teachers try talking with other teachers at your school. Doesn't have to be from the same grade you are teaching. It can be from other grades. If you feel lost or stuck in a situation like this, ask their help and opinions of what they would do. Don't think you can work something out when you feel lost and show disrespect towards your student or students parents. Research the internet or books to help you in the situaction.

Don't let a student be bullied because they have a different life living at home with same sex parents. That is the number one thing we do not want to see at school. Let your students know that you are there for them at any time. Be the super hero for them.
