Because I now live in America for most of my life, I'm constantly surrounded my "westernized" things which further made it difficult to connect with my native culture. I learnt the important values of how tradition is tied to family. Initially, my river was a single straight line: it was calm, uninterrupted, and neutral. As I'm transitioning from my teens years to adulthood, there's going to be changes which I may or may not be ready for. Even then, my river will continue to still flow, no matter how weak its currents may get.
