- Copernicus wrote an essay called the Commentariolus. In this essay Copernicus explained why the solar system had the sun placed at the center which was a revolutionary theory as it simplified and corrected errors in the old system.
- The heliocentric universe that was provided by Copernicus was so important yet controversial because it went against a system in place for more than 1000 years and did not follow the Catholic Church's beliefs. - Galileo was a highly intelligent philosopher and mathematician who changed the face of astronomy
- He discovered the law of falling bodies as well as advancing our knowledge of motion which lead to the creation of Issac Newtons Law of Motions
- He also changed our idea of the universe when he proved that the earth in fact orbits the sun, and not the other way around. 
- He even uncovered crucial information about our planets that we didn't know like how Jupiter has 4 moons, the sun spins on an axis, and that Venus has phases like the moon; which once again proved his theory that the Earth orbits the sun
