I was reminded of this at a conference where they talked about the Meyerhoff scholars program at University of Maryland which started off as a cohorting-style stem scholarship program for black undergraduate men.

I think we did a good job discussing topics like privilege, identity, racial trauma as not being deficiencies.  Talking about getting away from the deficit model of students was really important, and we did a reasonably good job of that in our discussions

Being more inclusive, addressing white supremacy, discrimination etc. doesn't mean lowering standards, expecting students to learn less, or reducing content.  This is an important point when thinking of modifying courses.
