Self-deception at Home

I like things to be a certain way in my household. I like the living room picked up and the kitchen counter to be clear. I often bark orders when these things aren't as I want them to be. I definitely blame others when I see that others are not doing what I want them to do. My view of others when I am in this space is that they are being lazy, they aren't respecting me, and that I shouldn't have to clean up after others. I have recently seen the truth and recognized that I am the one with the problem. My husband and son don't set out to be disrespectful by leaving the counter messy. I have overcome the self-deception by focusing on what they are doing to be helpful. This eliminates the negative view I have of them as well.

I feel like I have been working with this fro awhile, and I used to be much worse. However, I tend to get stuck in my ways with the little things. Whether it be how I have the things positioned on my desk or how I load the dishwasher. If someone comes in to help and tidy up (or do dishes), I instantly feel upset when they "mess up" how I do things. When I need to stop and see what they have done from their point of view. Their motives are not malicious - so I need to remember that and let it go. I need to appreciate them instead
