I am from McAllen, Texas, a growing city in the South, nearly bordering Mexico. I lived there for 19 years, until finally, I decided I wanted something more, so here I am. I moved to Austin in the Fall of 2016, making this my second semester at the University of Texas, and I gotta say I love it! I am studying International Relations and Global Studies, with a minor in Latin American Studies and Spanish. But that's not the case for Particularists, for their decisions depend on particular circumstances, and tend to disregard the rule of law. The first picture of Jimmy Conway from the movie Goodfellas, is a good example of particularism, because the mafia operates under the code of silence, disregarding the law, and protecting the ones closest to them. Another example of Particularism comes from The Place Beyond the Pines clip, where the off duty police officers use their authority to barge in on this home without cause, or warrant, only because they know there is a stash of money that they want to get their hands on. On the other hand, the picture of the ma n holding the sign in protest against the ICE raids across the US, depicts the Universalist culture that the US  government is portraying by enforcing strict immigration laws on illegal immigrants in America. The IMF portrays a great example of collectivism in that its focus is on a global scale to ensure stable cooperation, and who also provides resources to member experiencing difficulties with payments. In his raps, we are constantly reminded that Kanye West is a god; he literally has a song called "I am a God." Mr. West has portrayed individualism through his solo career for over a decade. This movie portrays a coach going beyond his job description to ensure his players excel beyond high school, so they don't end up on the streets, or in jail.
