"A very significant episode, however sad, in our opinion is the one in which Juliet, in order to avoid marrying Paris and run away with Romeo, drinks a sleeping pill to simulate her own death for 42 hours. Romeo, unaware of everything, as soon as he hears of Juliet’s funeral, buys poison to commit suicide next to her; when Juliet wakes up and finds Romeo dead she stabs herself with his dagger."

An age-old revenge between two powerful families erupts into bloodshed. A group of masked Montagues risk further conflict by gatecrashing a Capulet party. A young lovesick Romeo Montague falls instantly in love with Juliet Capulet, who is due to marry her father’s choice, the County Paris. With the help of Juliet’s nurse, the women arrange for the couple to marry the next day, but Romeo’s attempt to halt a street fight leads to the death of Juliet’s own cousin, Tybalt, for which Romeo is banished. In a desperate attempt to be reunited with Romeo, Juliet follows the Friar’s plot and fakes her own death. The message fails to reach Romeo, and believing Juliet dead, he takes his life in her tomb. Juliet wakes to find Romeo’s corpse beside her and kills herself. The film is a modern transposition of William Shakespeare's famous tragedy set in the 90s in Verona Beach in a Los Angeles neighborhood, we believe that as far as the characters are concerned, not much has changed. It is interesting to note how the characters reveal their nature through their mask during the dance. Juliet, in the name of her purity, is an enchanting and candid angel and Romeo, with his armour, is a timeless knight; a character who totally embodies the spirit of the party is Mercutio, a nonconformist soul and a stranger by nature, he is the most representative figure of the general state of the story.
