Nina and Jeff started secretly dating a little before the trip so they sneak around during the trip. Beatrice travels later, because she and the king can't be in the same plane at the same time. She and her bodyguard Conner decide to start dating secretly during the time they spend alone in a cabin in the snow. Sam and Teddy kiss in a hot tub at the ski lodge while Beatrice isn't there. Beatrice finds out that her dad has stage four lung cancer and will be dying soon. He tells her that he would like to walk her down the aisle. He also talks about how helpful it will be to have a king to help her make decisions and make it easier for America to accept their first hereditary queen. Beatrice proposes to Teddy and he accepts. Conner finds out from their press interview and is hurt. Upon finding out he runs away. Beatrice finds him off-set and they have a talk. She wants to be the one to tell Teddy because her feelings are reciprocated. He is equally as excited. Beatrice meanwhile goes to tell her father. He is not happy at all. He gets really stressed out and while debating with her and has a hospitalizing coughing fit due to his cancer. The royal family was brought there with him. The next morning Nina decides to go support the twins because she had gone home after breaking up with Jeff so she wasn't taken with them. When she gets to the hospital though Daphne is there comforting Jeff. Jeff is caught up in panic and accepts her flirty help and comfort. Nina continues to ignore the twins until she gets invited to Beatrice and Teddy's engagement party. She decides to go. While dress shopping she runs into Daphne. Daphne pretends to help Nina when really she just wants to see which dress she picks to cancel the order. Daphne is also close with the store workers so they let her get away with it. Nina finds a new dress by making up with Sam and enlisting her to help. A couple days before the party Jeff goes to the frat party Nina is at and they make up. He tells her to do what she deems best, regarding the Teddy-Conner situation. She bursts into tears and her mother comes in and takes over. After sitting in the lobby a bit longer, she and Teddy go out and talk to the people who have come around the hospital to give their best wishes. Beatrice goes around taking pictures, accepting gifts, accepting wishes of good luck, and more. Teddy does the same, and with all the grace Beatrice does. She continues to think that being with Teddy would be the best for the country. She and Teddy make their way back to the beginning and then the doctor dealing with the King comes out. They announce the king dead and everyone kneels to Beatrice, Conner being the first. She then accepts it with a deep curtsy until the church bells ring.
