...Although DLSU follows Catholic tradition, it does not impose religious teachings on students of different beliefs (I noticed this even if it's an LC course), but rather fosters an environment of respect and openness.

We can alsoo see the growing support of Pride events and the presence of vibrant scholar organization, such as LSS (Lasallian Scholar Society). There's also a special enrollment for students with disabilities, reflecting the school's effort to accommodate diverse needs. These just show that the univ is still evolving in making the institution comfortable for its learners.

DLSU is inclusive because of the measures it takes to accomodate people with disability or specific needs. It is evident in the infrastructure of the school where there are ramps around the campus. Most of the buildings have elevators and some of its buttons have Braille on them. Some classrooms have different colored tiles at the center of the room. Chairs are not supposed to be place in these tiles as they mark the pathway for wheelchair users. Upon your admission at DLSU, you are required to take an medical exam and disclose any pertinent medical information. These information is required by the school in order to make necessary arrangements to accomodate students. The campus also offers counselling services through OCCS. Professors also ask the language spoken of students at the start of the term. They adjust the mode of language and also recommend international students to Filipino introductory courses for them to get settled in their classes.

DLSU is not inclusive when it comes to mental health. Although there is a conselling office and mental health is acknowledged in the classroom, considerations for mental health all boils down to the beliefs of the professor. Some professors are understanding while others firmly believe it is just an excuse students make or a bother. DLSU is also not sensitive when it comes to implementing its continuity policies. As my fellow coursemates have mentioned, DLSU’s decision to implement synchronous classes amidst suspensions and the recent storm is an example of them ignoring the concerns of students.

Although DLSU is often referred to as a "school for the poor," this no longer aligns with its current branding. Additionally, despite tuition fee increases, we have yet to see significant improvements that justify the rising costs.

In summary, the school promotes equality rather than equity. If they were truly pushing for equity, they would offer classes specifically tailored for students with exceptionalities.
DLSU isn't inclusive in a way that its already high tuition keeps increasing every year, making it hard for students who don't have an exceptionally wealthy background. Evidently, these raises in tuition fees aren't reflected in what could be beneficial for the students. As many of the building's facilities lack PWD accessibility. A common complaint from students would be the lack of elevators, as they always seem to be under repair, and that the existing usable elevators are slow.

One thing I noticed is that DLSU is not PWD-friendly. When I had a medical concern where I needed to use the wheelchair, I had a hard time traveling from one building to the other, especially from Andrew to the main campus. I empathize with other people who are physically disabled because I experienced for a short time what they probably experience every day.

Things get rough when we talk about inclusivity in DLSU, as some areas of the campus are not PWD-friendly, such as Gokongwei Hall and the STRC building. There are also multiple broken paths and significant changes in elevation in some parts, which can be hard to go through.

- Elijah

DLSU is inclusive because despite being a Catholic school, they do not discriminate when accepting students and in the rules they implement. No matter the religion and social status, DLSU reviews students fairly. DLSU also does not cling onto conservative mindsets, for they give students the chance to express themselves freely with their clothings and conduct events that will welcome people, such as Pride month activities.

DLSU is not inclusive, for they seldom think about the experiences of persons of disabilities. A lot of the classrooms at DLSU can be reached through stairs, which can be difficult and inconvenient for those who use wheelchairs or are unable to walk properly. Even though there are elevators, they're usually small, which can cause delays and make students tardy. This is also seen by the roads nearby, especially going to the Andrew and Razon building. The streets are bumpy and are constantly under construction, making it extremely hard to travel quickly from within 15 minutes. DLSU tends to also not be inclusive during times of calamity, such as typhoons, as they often make classes online, without thinking about whether the students have stable WiFi connection or are able to study due to the condition of their houses.

Some people may feel that DLSU is not fully inclusive because, like many institutions, it still faces gaps in accessibility, representation, or support for certain student groups. Others point out that socioeconomic barriers can limit who is able to enter and thrive within the university. These concerns don’t mean the school is uninclusive by intention, but rather that there is still room for improvement in ensuring all students feel equally welcomed and supported.

I find that the school's infrastructure and facilities are sometimes not fully inclusive. Some areas lack ramps, making navigation difficult for those who need them. Attendance and reporting illness is another issue; the process can be so tedious that some students attend school even when unwell. Additionally, regarding suspensions, students often feel pressured to attend classes, even with a weak Wi-Fi connection, because their grades depend on it.
