My school in no way informed my identity. I felt it was wholly unconcerned with student identity in any capacity. Any identity seeking was done on my own terms.

My school made me realize my privilege, but it was largely thanks to compassionate peers who educated me and not the school itself.

TBH middle school and my friends in middle school help me embrace who I was and what I believed in finding a real brotherhood during these years help me understand life in all aspects.

I was exposed to the world during middle school from death, to sex, to gangs, to just identifying who I was and what I liked

I felt very disconnected from my identity and felt like I only learned about others' culture and history.

My high school was very divisive, I felt like my (mostly) white teachers tried their hardest to connect with the black teens there but we often only really connected in that sense to our black teachers and they often were the role models we looked to.
Too white for the black kids, too black for the white kids type shit lowkey but I also knew that was a myth and found my tribe as I got older and realized that I was who I was and no amount of labeling could take my black identity and how I engaged with it away from me.

Based on the demographics I was around, my taste in conversation , fashion, music , etc were molded in different ways. Not because I was following, but because I was gaining new experiences and learning about new things. I blended it all into one.

1. school made me hesitant to open up about my identity because I saw a lot of bullying towards people who were open about theirs

2. racially my high school was mostly a bubble and i was worse off because of it

For me personally i felt comfortable with who I was considering that I went to an all Hispanic/black school.

I also feel like it was very apparent what their socioeconomic background was and it was clear with their high grades in school, and resources they had access to.
