Mental health is important in the holy trio of health. Mental health is waking up in the morning and attacking the day, it's talking about your problems with a person you trust. You need mental health to be able to function as a human being, from having a positive self image to being a half-full kind of person. It doesn't matter what situation you're in, there's always time to sit and ask yourself 'what part of my attitude and mentality can I do to make my day run better and smoother?'.

Mental health has hindrances, as well. Some people have a condition in which their brain lacks a proper amount of dopamine and serotonin, causing depression. Some people choose not to talk to others, and in the long run it ends up hurting them more than benefiting them. But if people open up and are willing to face their mental problems head-on, then all will be fine- because part of mental health is addressing these problems with an optimistic, determined and confident attitude.

Physical health is extremely important so that you can get through the day. A very important thing to include in your life to help physical health is to get an adequate amount of sleep. To do this you need to make sure you get off your phone one hour before bed and also make sure you have done all your homework earlier in the day so you're not up all night doing it. By getting enough sleep, you will have enough energy for the day. Another thing you should do is get exercise. For me, I play hockey 4 times a week which keeps me kind of fit and healthy. It also ties in to mental and emotional health. Getting out of the house and being active takes your mind off of things and helps you be happier.

Intellectual Health

Intellectual health is vital to excel in school, social life and beyond. Upkeeping intellectual health means that one challenges themselves academically, works on their critical thinking skills (example: okay, I made this mistake when doing this kind of problem, so how can I figure out a system that will make sure I won't make the same mistake?) which are vital to accomplish goals in all areas of life. Things such as avoiding academics and failing to set mesurable goals often impede intellectual health; for the lack of problems makes a person go soft.

To much school work can tire out a person, but to little poses no challenge and a person doesn't learn to challenge themselves. One must find a good balance to balance the three types of health, even if that means reading a book instead of checking Instagram.
