I really enjoyed the activity that was used in compound words that allows movement and interaction among peers within a classroom while also reinforcing the concepts that was taught. Alternative games could be a treasure hunt for 1 to 1 pull-out sessions.

Today I also learnt various ways of teaching the sounds of y with the word yesterday - that has two different sounds of y within the same word. - I love how Rozi taught the words 'm' and 'z'. To remember the sound of 'm', can think of the word marvelous and if a dish is delicious, you will also sound 'mmm'. To remember the sound of 'z', can think of the snoozing sound

Sarah taught me dje, oy and tch. I like the part when she says destroy the poison which shows the rule clearly of oy- end of the word and oi in the middle.
Slyvia taught me igh, ew and ed. It was clear that gh is silent and we focus on /i/ when she taught me igh. Explicit teaching using different steps for complex topics such as teaching prefix. Important to ensure that it is simple and clear! Repeating it thrice will stick it into our heads!

Introducing goals and the importance of learning the subject will help students to ensure why we learn the topic and that they are aligned with the teacher (WALT/ WILF).

The use of activity is crucial in recapping and previewing of our lessons. The activities were interesting and caters to the different kind of lessons to be taught. The different modes of presentation are also important for our students to try out.

I learnt a lot during the phonograms activity. Love love love how our friends are so creative with their way of teaching! Good job TG1!
