Why ‘Adelies’? Summarise the information on why Phil is collecting info on this type of penguin. You are required to not just cut and paste, but to identify the key ideas and summarise them into your own points. Add the food web image to your padlet. Phil has been collecting information on the Adelie Penguins for two reasons. One is because they are apex predators which means they are at the top of the marine food web. The second reason is because they are easy to monitor and count. Also when you approach them they don't fly away.

What are some of the steps in the process of collecting data? Add sufficient detail. First they get a helicopter to fly over a colonies of Adelie penguins. Then they get a photographer to take photos of the colonies from the open paratroop doors. Then they scan the images on a special computer software which helps them estimate the number of breeding pairs. Then a team spot checks it. That then enables them to correct the photographic data and gets us as close as we can to an accurate penguin count.
