When walking around the museum I tried to find images that I thought invoked aspects of at least one of these words.

For Isolation, "Mount St Gothard" by Joseph Mallord William Turner stuck out to me due to the isolating feeling it captures of a simple mule or donkey emerging from a cave. Not only does it feature a cave which is part of my topic, It also holds a certain feeling of vastness that these caves have as well as being placed in the middle of of virtually nowhere.

For Adrenaline, "Eluhim" by Leonora Carrington captured the feeling of a rush due to its ethereal presence as well as mythological figures. It also reminded me of the multiple myths and fables that have been used throughout history to describe caves and the almost religious-like experience cavers have when spelunking.

For Confinement, "Brazil" by Erika Verzutti encapsulated confinement literally through its use of holes and objects. It also resembled caving systems with its multiple entrances and holes to get stuck within. Looking at it gave me a claustrophobic feeling that spelunking often gives me as well.

Finally, for depravation, Francis Bacon's piece, "Three Studies for Figures at the Base of a Crucifixion" gave the feeling of impairment of virtue and corruption through its use of distorted mythological figures. It related to caving as well due to the mythological creatures that a featured in stories and media within these caves, often used to illicit fear within an audience.
