We will use the Rag Pahadi (which is a kind of Hindustani music) for the introduction. After that, we will use Carnatic music to fuse with disco music. At first, we planned to use Rag Pahadi for the whole song (including fusing with the disco. Since then, Mr Graham told us to choose a song with beats so that it will be easier to mix with disco so we decided to change the song. However, while getting through the whole process, we had just figured out that the Rag Pahadi basically doesn't have a clear beat to be able to fuse with disco which is a genre of music needs quite strong beats. Therefore, we thought that it will be quite a challenge for us to mix that kind of traditional music with disco. Since then, we decided to change our ideas. So far we would change to fuse between EDM and a piece of Carnatic music. As long as getting through the whole process of researching different kinds of music, we found that Carnatic music is also a traditional music of India but it has some clear beats. Therefore, we can create some beats if there are no background music and the beats will be easier to follow in some cases. We put the dance club beats into almost of the song but we didn't think it fit the beats of the song. The original Vietnamese songs sometimes have some high parts and low parts and it's kind of hard to fuse. Instead of fusing that part, we have decided to keep that part originally as it was so maybe we will delete some of the beats to make sure that after fusing the whole song, it still keeps its original characteristics. Also, between the second part and the last part of the song, we decided to add a little bit more sounds of an instrument as a part to connect those 2 parts together fluently due to the last note that the singer sang . As a group to fuse different genres of music together, we are trying to renew the traditional music of Vietnam. "Cai luong" had been an ancient piece of music which used to be important in the ancient time to help them have more excitement in their work because in the feudal system in Vietnam, people were being treated unfairly based on the different classes. Therefore, each sentence, each word in the songs contain stories about how people were treated, their experiences in working (such as farming,...) and sometimes the songs could be about the love stories between a man and a woman. Furthermore, it can also be about wars (because Vietnam is one of the countries having most wars in Asia). Society now is more equal, people rarely have to be outside under the sunshine to work in the file. I think that I did a good job in bringing the features of those 2 different genres into 1 song (ex: adding more beats but still keep the melody). Moreover, we were quite creative to try to add the connections to different parts of the song to make them more connected to each other. It was quite a good idea because it partly helps make the traditional song to become more suitable with an EDM. Throughout the song, different beats and different synths were added together. There is also no problem with the volume so far because the volume is not too loud that it could overwhelm the whole melody. However, there were still some parts that the beats don't really fit the melody of the song as it was going too fast while the song was slower, the beats of the 2 songs didn't go along well with each other. Therefore, I think that the thing we have to improve is try to add the beats in but also still need to consider whether the beats fit the traditional song or not. Furthermore, throughout the song, because we had added too many different beats and too many kinds of synths so it hears quite complicated, as the audience cannot catch up with the real melody. Instead of adding more beats to the traditional music to make it become EDM, they tried to mix up 2 different kinds of instruments. Alice used the piano as a piece of classical music and Rika used the guitar as a piece of EDM music. Throughout the song, they had done really well in using 2 different instruments to create one song, as the instruments went along together. There were some parts that the guitar changed the pitch as well as the sound to make the song more creative. They also did really well in keeping the melody for the song. However, I feel that there are still things that they need to improve more on their product. They were trying to mix the traditional music with EDM but I don't think that the song contains the features of EDM. The sounds of the guitar kept changing but it actually didn't bring more color or characteristics to the song.
